Thanks Johnny Boy you were spot on! Just taken the carb off & taken both Venturi flaps out & re-fitted them this time more precisely and more central. Car started & revved normally. Proper looking forward to a toad test tomorrow - Thanks again Huge

Just put the torch down the chambers & the Venturi flaps are at a slight angle and open by a couple of Mill they are not flush 🤔

Help please.....Carb refitted & car started! Sounds fab BUT on starting the engine revs go straight to 3000RPM and won’t come down!!

Nice one think I’ve been trying to sterilise it! Carb is clean now but the service kit contains an all brass needle valve whereas the one I’ve taken out of the carb has a rubber Viton tip - should I replace it?

Great topic! I’ve stopped carrying a spare wheel (A very modern car practice ie Run Flats) & don’t carry a jack. Sounds risky but I figure I don’t get to travel too far, garages are often close by & ive got breakdown cover. What I do carry is one of these.............. 🤔

I’m in u/k territory here so lots of info to digest eg no idea Re Ultrasonic Baths / Web tec / spindle bores or how I’d know if choke was bad let alone how I set the Carb up if I ever get it back on! ......Anyway this is the only way to learn 🤔👍 Guess I won’t b driving the car tomorrow 😂😂

Hello Marti I used the original letters & cut the pins off. I didn’t take a template of the bonnet holes b4 they got welded over & painted so I had to guesstimate where to put the F.O.R.D & thats y I’m not offering up my bonnet measurements cos they may not b exact! I got a specialist body repair chap to fix them on so don’t kno what he used 🤔 Good Luck!! Huge
