  5. then the back stripping out then quatermile it Nah, leave everything in, you can make a brew in the fireup lane
  6. I was thinking the same. It looks stunning doesn't it I was even thinking about getting a couple of litres and having my roof sprayed
  7. Are folks still up for a East Coast meet? Ive started a new thread here Reply in there if you fancy it Cheers, Dave
  8. Right, lets stop mucking about and set a date. THIS SUNDAY!! (7th June) -- @ 10am. We can meet in Whitby Abbey carpark , and aslong as we stay with the cars we shouldn't have any trouble meeting there, then go for a drive round the countryside.over the moors for some pics and a pint. I'l spend a bit of time and plan a route that loops us back to either that carpark or another for photos And if folks can't make it on this date, we'll just have to have another later in the year, maybe mid-september, after all the kids have gone back to school...
  9. Looking really smart trev, I might send the previous owner (AllistarK) a pic or two. He's a Slot mag hoarder, so he'd love this
  10. Caspian blue? Have a look at this '3i, is it the same colour? (my monitor isn't up to much ) If not this is Crystal blue... this mk1
  11. Now, Im not sure what specific manufacturer is best, but you can get glass paint from most crafty type places and Ive heard it can be used to good affect to tint headlights/spotlights.
  12. Personally, I like them. They look well smart, the colour of the lenses suits the colour of the car. I might get shot down here, but I'd get a gold coach line back down the side to tie it all together
  13. its yonks away from ponte! wakefield area Depends where your coming from. When you'cve driven from the east coast, the extra couple of extra miles is nowt
  14. Oh, Tony. What a pity, it was really good and warm. The pub even has decent ale. Vibrating cake - Your car sounds righteous being given a bootful. Don't worry about me and escRot. We always seem to blag it
  15. Yeah, really good to meet you again. Your capri looks well hard, I just wish I'd gotten a proper picture of it
  16. the pics from this month are here Looking forward to next month now
  17. Some glorious weather we've been having today, just right for standing around in a carpark nattering about old cars 2lt zetec'd, Webber 45'd mk3 capri. Sounds well Semi sleeper LET nova I think belongs to the owner of the pub One or two more of those lovely mk2's I too Johns weapon of choice for a spin, makes my Amazon yearnings harder to ignore... Then this stunning beige mk2 showed up, properly gorgeous The owner was an absolute gent aswell, he was, very wisely, carrying a spare clutch cable which got me rolling again when I snapped mine on the way out of the carpark. He even got grubby helping me fit it. Top bloke, it was his first time meeting us too And what about this Thats right, proper 280bhp 4x4 sleeper The behemoth on the move Again, a cracking meet. Looing forward to next month.
  18. Does it matter how many cars turn up. Even if its just you antz and his dad, surely its everyone elses problem that they missed it. Just make sure you take plenty of pics to make them all green We're trying to organise a whitby meet on RR, theres a few looking at coming from as far afield as co durham and newcastle, I can let you all know what happens with that??
  19. So was it a brooklands or a special? Either way, I love atmospheric old pics like this
  20. escRots back, the weather is gorgeous and Im hoping for a decent turnout
  21. That is pap, as said it always happens just as your making some progress. I know it doen't make you feel anybetter, but it could've been a whole world worse Infact, check out what happened to the escRot not two weeks after having £500 worth of new steel wings and a £200 in paint Before After
  22. Its that time of year again to start organising the summer shows. Ive been going to this show for the last few years, we even had a small RR presence last year and, although we couldn't all park together, everyone seemed to have a grand old time. Firstly, what are the details, I hear you ask.... 03/07/09 Thornes Park Classic Vehicle Event 2009 Thornes Park Wakefield West Yorkshire WF2 8QZ The show starts around 4pm and lasts until dusk. Theres entertainment, however, I'd like to think we'd be more interested in the machinery on show As every year, access is from Horbury Road gate Heres the pic threads from last year. here and here And the year before here Anyway, what I think we might do to make sure we get parked together is all meet elsewhere half hour before hand and just turn up rather than getting the forms sent off just to end up parking in year defined classes away from each other OSF/NSJC/RR stand FTW! Let me know who fancies it, I'll double check with the organisers that we're ok to turn up en mass and we can start working out where to meet up.
  23. BUMP!! Its only this Sunday, lets just hope the escRot is done being welded
  24. Go on Tony, how fast?
  25. Just a small hicup on an otherwise cracking day. At least you made it in the end, hell you even got a good parking space
