Bring on the winter and cold I say. My heater is working for the first time since I changed the engine, and Ive got new door seals all round. Its actually a nice place to be on a cold, wet windy day now Oh and yeah, greasy roads and sub-zero temperatures are where the fun's at

What a really good day, I honestly couldn't believe the weather we had, it was much more 'summers day' than the depths of autumn. We took a few pictures, although with everything being so well packed in it was difficult to get full cars in, but the atmosphere was grand and the venue worked really well. Did folks make it to the Flask? Like we suspected when we left, it took half hour just to get over the bridge, and that was after the folks in the car behind had to get out and walk because 'your car is gassing us, we can't breathe in there now' she wasn't impressed when I laughed at her. Anyway, thank you to Paul and the crew for organising this, we'll be there next year (If we're welcome)

Whitby HotRod Show -- 31/10/09 -- THIS SATURDAY
mk14dr replied to mk14dr's topic in SHOWS, EVENTS & MEETS
The website is here some info.... "The very first Whitby Kustom Show is being held in the grounds of West Cliff Primary School in Whitby, North Yorkshire on 31st October 2009. The event starts at 9am and runs until 3pm" and "After the judging, all are invited to attend the organised cruise. This will take us down into Whitby and then onto the Flask Cafe which is about 6 miles away towards Scarborough where refreshments will be served. The Flask Cafe is becoming the Ace Cafe of the North East with regular bike meetings. They are very keen to see us on the day" Anyone fancy it? -
Anyone up for a bit of this? It should be good, even if the weather isn't ]

Weren't 205's galvenised from the factory? That'll be what stopped him needing rear quarters Unless your implying that it helped withstand deformation during a crash?

Any regular meets in North East area?
mk14dr replied to SmurfRS2000mk2's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
Yeah, like trev said, Scotch Corner is the big regular meet. Theres the monthly Yorkshire meet near Wakefield and the classic and rod meet every month in Leeds. Theres also the Metro Centre meet in teeside, although I've heard that 'they' have put a stop to that. -
Personally, I'd be all over the Zodi' like a rash. I love all the Zcars, so I wouldn't be thinking too hard. Totally agree with keeping the bench, and it sounds like theres solutions out there for the auto box to column interface. And you really don't want to be sticking a pinto in it, its doable but to what end? You'd be better off sticking a zetec in, and even then it'll make the wrong noise, no, the only real way forward is V6 (Capri/Scorpio Cosworth), I6 (Supra/Skyline/Holden/Ford US or even Jag in the shape of a 'charged XJR lump) or V8 (289/283/302/350/440 etc, or Lexus 4lt?) So what Im saying is the world is your seafood

Whats the crack with these steel Repro RS wings?
mk14dr replied to X-pack-Glyn's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
The current market value is based on there being very limited numbers available. If good repro's are readily available I'd expect them to be sensibly priced. Maybe after a year or two of clearing the backlog, but I think at first they'll be at least £300 per side, at least The problem is there will be a flood onto the market, some will be used certainly, but some will end up on ebay for eyewatering amounts keeping the prices afloat... Which ever way you look at it, and as long as its taken, it can only be a good thing for our hobby. Its just a matter of time now before someone knocks together some heritage shells... -

Glad you enjoyed steve. Like I said, I couldn't make it tonight and I can't make it next month, but I'll keep this thread up to date -
post any wide arch cortina pics! i'll start....
mk14dr replied to zetecmk2's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
Wide arch Cortina eh? is this the sort of thing you thinking about? Or more like this (I know its a MustangII) Or this style, this is Chevy Monza displaying the 'oval racing' type of body mods -
Gutted. Don't, whatever you do, let the Insurance company take the car, and don't be bullied into using their bodyshop. You pay the premiums, you decide who does the work. Don't let them write it off either, everything is negotiable
