  6. SATURDAY 14th AUGUST from 6:00pm The second Saturday of every month brings us the Yank and Rod meet, thats now diversified into classics aswell (well Ive never been asked to leave...) This little gathering has been running for years so theres generally plenty of diversity and plenty of space if you want to bring a mate or two The Location couldn't be easier to find, J1 of the M621 and head towards the huge B&Q warehouse, you'll be looking for the noisey cars parked out front Heres a map for those that need it, you need to get where the red 'X' is So the details: 2nd Saturday of Every Month Junction 1 Retail Park Leeds, LS11 0BD From 18:00(ish) So, hopefully see some folks there
  7. i believe the owner gets chance to make themselves know before the DVLA issue you with a new V5c. IIRC its something like 28days maybe longer though... and beware, touching the car before you have been in contact with and heard back from the DVLA will be classed as theft. There was a guy on Turbosport or Alcoholics Anonymous (i can't remember which) a few years ago that found an abandoned Escort Cosworth, and I think he ended up keeping it so its definately do-able Get a letter drafted, and sent off. It might be your lucky week
  8. Bump for this weekend folks. There sounds to be a couple of guys from RR coming across, so there might only be a few of us. but I bet we have a laugh. Im sorry that you feel that way Tony, but I can't be at every meet. I get to as many as I can So, yeah, If anyone finds themselves at a loose end this weekend, meet us at - Whitby Abbey Carpark @ 10am - and we can go for a drive
  9. The next one is Sunday 28th June @ 3pm. It should be good
  10. Another cracking meet, more Fords than I expected (not everyone has gone to CF obviously ), good weather, good company. My pics from today...
  11. Cool, hopefully see you there Just a quick bump for the morning crew before I go home to bed
  12. Steve, got your txt mate but Im just at work at the moment. I would measure the dipstick and tube for you, but we had to modify mine to get it to fit anyway. I think the easiest was to do it will be to find out how much oil it should take (depends which sump you have), do an oil and filter change and put the proper amount in then mark the dipstick at the correct level
  13. Just trying to generate some more interest in our little meet today. A couple of the usual suspect are otherwise engaged (Classic Ford Show this weekend), so there won't be the spread of Fords that generally attend, but there not many better ways to spend a sun afternoon than being surrounded by and talking about old cars. The address is The Crofton Arms 437 Doncaster Rd Crofton, Wakefield, WF4 1RP The link to the thread is in my signature \/ Il be there from 3pm, lets just hope for some more of this good weather

  22. Thanks Retro, knowledge is power I don't 'get' putting others choices in cars down, we're all driving these old fords for the fun not to nit-pick or judge each other. What really matters is being out there and putting some miles under the wheels
  23. Good good, Im going try and not break the car this time I was thinking about maybe having a bit of a drive out afterwards. To where, I don't know.....
  24. Thats an interesting. I have been under the impression that 4dr shells are the stronger ones with them having more curves in the shell. However, if one person is going to know either way I'd have put my money on you
