It looks to me like your loom has already been modified and that your car maybe an early model with very few electrics-it appears you have live feeds (reds) coming from your loom and then the box may mearly be an additional fuse box for additional functions as the one mounted to your bulkhead looks ancient and has very few wires passing through it, add to that the loom is wrapped in black electrical tape and not the original loom tape and u could be onto something. Best procedure is a case of disconnecting your battery (stops you getting a shock:mrgreen:) and seeing if you can open up the box to reveal any fuses inside maybe. Using the same method you can disconnect wires from it and connect the battery back up to try all your electrics and see what would have stopped working I removed a whole carrier bag of shitty unneccasary wiring from my car after the muppet that owned it before me filled it up - it fealt sooo good

How much did that set you back may I ask mate?

Did u strip the old paint first and how did they turn out mate? Did they last very well afterwards?

Ive seen that plenty of cars have had their rs wheels re-coloured to match their paintwork like escort-tec darrans car for example but can anyone suggest who to get to do this? As its not a wheel refurb that I want and also I want the polished sections on the RS wheels to remain untouched as they are freshly diamond-cut. . .

They are a bit of a fiddle to remove! What they should have done is rammed some scissors through it and pulled the handles apart Other than that Ive got me bridge, 5mm septum, tongue and 16mm tunnels... guna scaffold my nose at somepoint tho

A fella close to me had a rover v8 in his escort-and I know what people are saying about sticking with a 4pot and in a way I completely agree but man it was so King awseome, Id like to do it to be honest but Ive got my engine and nothings guna stop me putting it in n/a yb cant wait... one thing tho is that your car has to suit a V8 with the right paint, body etc so if it looks like an rs or a mex replica forget it - but if it just looks straight mean then u can be different and turn it in to a beast - Id like to see and hear more to be honest

Sweet mate, glad its going good-it could probably go better if you get someone in the know to tweek the carbs a little as its been a while since I last had it done If its the sump bolt maybe it just needs a new copper seal washer Be good to see a clip of it running with that set-up, I bet its loud as f**k!

Hello people, Im in the process of undoing the bodged wreck that is my engine bay and need my bulkhead lip and a few holes welded up before I can continue much further.. are there any osf'ers amongst you that can possibly travell out equipped for such a job as my car is immobile at the moment...
