  9. Ah, a fine choice sir!
  10. Personally I think u'd have to be either mad or just plain loaded to go for a zetec... Especially when you can go down the XE route if you want pretty big twin cam power. But a 2.1 Pinto will most definatley deliver and is just plain bullet proof
  11. F**KIN LOVE IT! And check out Arthurs Xpack Mk2 for sale on the car lot... Go' on Terry my son! :thumbsup:1
  12. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y242/s ... 0020ov.jpg It looks truly oldskool, and remember its still RWD so imagine it screaming round a roundabout sideways on Wide red banded steels with the bonnet off and Pinto!!... Pure TERROR to Joe public and his stuck up Mrs - FECKIN NUTTS.
  13. Theres only room for one black escort in this um... world?!... Ahem, Sort of.
  14. Blatently power makes it much easier, that way you can smoothly accelerate in to get the back out instead of bootin the shite out of the clutch on an old xflow... but it still works!
  15. This blue is the nuts mate.. dunno the code tho sorry Its sorta like Joe Littles crossflow Mk1 in the cars for sale section, check it out...

  22. Thats mint mate! No honestly it dont look too bad, its 1973 so I think its just outside tax free - Ud have to chase up the VIN to see if it was built/regstred before 1st Jan 73.. would be easier with log book but hey good find
  23. Do you have a fuel pressure regulator? it may help if you have a tweak with that.. I would imagine that because yr carbs are now effectivley closer to the head the time/distance for the air+fuel mix to actually get into yr engine has shortened therefore more fuel passing in faster than it did before so now a faster idle... maybe If they were balanced+running nicely before I wouldnt touch the carbs too much, sounds like you just simply need to back off the total amount of fuel coming in... Maybe
  24. Surely you dont mean its idleing at 3000rpm do you? You'll have an empty tank in no time! Balancing them I believe is getting the mix between air intake and fuel just right on both carbs whilst adjusting them to let in the same amount of air/fuel mix on both individual carbs..thus getting the correct idle. have you checked to see if the throttle cable/linkage is backed off properly? sounds like your movement of the carbs is effectivley accelerating/pulling the throttle cable if you know what I mean..
