Taken the scort out for a quick spin with new wheels and got real bad steerin wobble, took the wheels to get balanced and one was 70grams out and the other was 30grams, put em back on thinkin itd sort it but still there!! what else could it be? I've got 5 mm spacers on there but wouldnt have thought theyd do it?

  4. Well after 4 hours of f**kin about with grinding calipers and making new handbrake cables! (wilwoods dont fit under all 13" rims!!!!!) I got them on, but they need balancing which im a bit annoyed about plus theres some marks on the outer rim under the lacquer but for a cheap set of rims and tires i cant complain... too much Think they look good tho! hope it makes the journey to the pod tommorow

  10. mate clamp it up then run it up to temp, re tighten and let it cool, see if that helps, or tack a small mig weld on it.

  13. Yer cheers mate, gonna run it for a couple of hundred miles on this stuff then try semi synthetic, smokes better now tho! i'll bring it over when i get a chance. Got to adjust rear shock first!
  14. yer will do mate, he's always been good over the phone, jus aint had time, chucked 3.5litres in there to run it up after puttin head back on and now i've got noisey lifters!! even tho i used old skool 20-50, whats the wynn stuff like for sorting that?
  15. Anyone know how much oil i should use? Think the dipstick is now giving false readings? My xe is smoking bad and wanna eliminate a few sypmtoms before i take the head off again!!

Well the lads at WPE have come up trumps again, as always they've looked after me (thanks guys), Kev's sourced a plate diff and once its in Waynes gonna show me how to drive the thing properly (TOTALLY FECKING SIDEWAYS!!!) Sometimes you cant help but get 2nd hand bits but for a £100 saving i would always reccomend spending the bit extra and getting fresh out the box!!!! Will post a vid as soon as I get it back from WPE! Bring on the summer!!!
  17. Either way its just proper expensivo!! especially when i've already weighed out once for diff, bearings etc!!! may have to put old diff back in for time being, repair the quaife slipper and then sell it to get salisbury type.
  18. yup going for Tranx just wanna find cheapest price, so far i'm looking around £550 thats before fitting or bearings etc!!
  19. You just never know do ya? Found out today from Kev down at WPE my 2nd hand £400 diff i bought is no good, shot to shit! And my 2nd hand XE is breathing too!! oh well the life of a classic ford owner is never easy, have to put off getting the lovely 7x13 revo's for a while and buy myself a new plate type diff! Brand new this time any suggestions of a good supplier? At least Wayne and Kev give it to ya straight, no bullshit! Thanks for the hard work lads, I appreciate it

  23. Ok guys i'm ordering my 7x13 revo's with 175/50 yoko's from midland wheels on monday (which means my 6x13 rs rims and tires are up for grabs!) check the parts for sale section. All i wanna know is do i go gloss black centres or anthracite centres?

  25. Midland wheels is a good place to start, their replica wheels are nice, although their starmags dont look like they've as deep a dish as the ones in that pic. I'm all about the revo's 7x13 naturally
