The carbs and filters i might do that you know. I will get the whole lot and probably be selling the carbs
First question is what sort of fuel economy would i get with the dellorto 40's on it once its all been set up properly (Driven carefully ov-course)?
I might well do but i spoke to him last nite and said is there anything youve missed off of the spec he had given me and he said oh ive got a vernier timing pulley and chain etc he said you can have that in with the price to.
Also he said the 40's or dellortos and they have KnN filter on them aswell
How much would you say the carbs are worth on their own and does the fact that their dellortos put their price down ??
Deffo ive already got some MK1 Disc legs and some m16 calipers and a servo just being lazy but i need them on fast as my back brake are now 9" mex drums and they lock first
Also im going down saturday to look at the engine and if its all good then i will be going back with cash to buy it and with my Dads van to pick it up and bring it home
My car would fookin fly hey mate
Show the plastic how its done i think if i fitted it i would put a standard exhaust system so they would have a clue its hotted up
Would love to see their faces when i tear past them in their corsas and fiestas etc
Im texting the bloke about it and i am going to go and have a look at it soon if its all good i will buy it
I deffinitly am interested but i just dont want to get stitched on it
Just wanna make sure its all okay before i spend £500 which is a lot of money to me
I think if he hasnt got receipts for the work then its possible a bit iffy because i am sure if you had work carried out by an engineering firm you would have receipts for it
Right okay Google is my friend
Found the company and they have been established since 1949 so i guess that says it all really so if he has receipts for the work i think i will snap this one up
I have a good question though if its been bored to 1700cc does that mean it cannot be rebuilt again when its worn out or am i wrong in saying that
Only thing i am not sure on is the company who built the engine i have never heard of them and also i cant hear the engine run which i would really like to before i part with £500
Hi Guys
I have now picked up my new engine:
Its a 1700 Crossflow only done 100 miles since rebuild:
- Its been lightened and balanced
- Twin 40's
- 4 Branch Manifold
- Luminition Ignition
- Ported and polished
- Big Valve Head
- Steel Rocker Posts
- Double Valve Springs
- Jeff Howe Cam
It was built to spec by a company called Naismiths in Croydon (S.E London).
It is 140BHP at the flywheel.
If its stopped working all together it will more than likely need a new regulator mate im sure escort tec can sort you out one and wont take more than 40mins to fit it
P.S Tyres they are on Baring Road in Lee
My Dad and me always use them my Dads in the motor trade and will always recommend them.
Ring up and ask for John

Hope this helps you out mate
As above its a low mileage 1300 crossflow GT spec with a 4 branch manifold and twin choke weber and KnN filter.
If anyone could help me out that would be great as i want to prolong the life of the engine as much as possible
