As above guys just someone has said that the type 3 gearbox with removable bellhousing as fitted to cortina 1600e's and capri 1600GT's with the pushrod engines in is stronger?? He said i will break the mk2 sport box again can anyone confirm which is the stronger gearbox the MK2 Sport Box or the Type 3 Capri 1600GT/Cortina MK2 1600E gearbox?? Cheers Guys

swap the complete carb to one that is a manual choke Do you mean change the whole carb over i cant mate as i am putting a 1600 engine in so i need the 32/36 carb but i want manual choke not auto

I have been told to leave the inlet ports rough and not polish them up, i am just wondering if i should polish the exhaust ports or are they better rough i would guess polishing them would help the burnt gasses escape faster. Any help would be much appreciated Cheers

Got the carb through today and on a first look it does seem the bodies are different so i dont think it can be done has anyone tried this and can tell me for sure? dont want to start messing around as i dont know what i am doing and if it will swap over even

I dont recognise that distributer but if you want to be on the safe side go to your local tropical fish shop and buy a t-piece and join them together and then attach it to the inlet manifold. Hope this helps

I already have a weber 32DGV fitted to my mk1 escort which has a manual choke as standard and i just wondered if it is possible to fit the manual choke set up from that onto my 32/36 1600 mexico carb which has the auto choke fitted as standard?? Has anyone done this and is it difficult to do? If not do i need to buy a kit to do it or is there another way around it? Any help would be greatly appreciated as i am stuck at the moment.
