  1. like the sound of that mate what's the condition like?
  2. Your bang on mate the MK2 is a 3 stage switch but they fit the MK1 perfectly, I know that for sure as I have put one in mine and it works a treat the only thing I had to do was to crimp 3 new spade connectors onto where the originals were on the loom to marry up with the terminals on the new lamp. A very easy 5 minute job. Its a lot brighter as it uses a 10w bulb and it looks alot smarter than my yellow dim old thing I think the 3 way switch is a good upgrade as you can have completely off, on and off with door opening and closing and on when your driving or parked up.
  3. Im after a quite exhaust system for my mk1 escort it has a 4 branch ashley manifold which i would like to keep and i want to fit a standard type exhaust (centre and rear section) to get it back to as quite as an original escort mk1 mexico etc. has anyone got any ideas as all i can seem to find is loud ones like ashley and sportex etc. Maybe im just getting old but I want it to be quite on the motorway as i went for a drive last night and got home deaf lol

  8. Hi mate, Yes it is just the pedal pivot bushes at the top of the pedal box and you can do them with it in the car but you need to lay in the footwell and its not a very nice job I probably would just remove the pedal box if i done mine again as I reckon it would be much easier The bushes are easy to get hold of, I brought poly bush ones for under a tenner posted, Heres a link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Escort-M ... 5647f5db3f Hope that helps
  9. I will give that a go cheers mate

  11. I just wondered what my original set of MK1 escort front seats would be worth from my 1972 mk1 1100L 4 door. They are in excellent condition and they are black vinyl, Came out of my car which had done around 45,000 miles. Got them taking up space in my garage so just wanted to find out how much they are worth. If anyone could help out here as I wouldn't know how to price these as you don't often see them in this condition. These are the only pictures I can find of them at the moment.

  13. and alot cheaper that 175/50/13s to
  14. not 100%, but im pretty sure the mk2 tank is the same as the mk1 From memory when i was after a tank for my escort its just the thread for the fuel pipe that is metric on mk2 and imperial on most mk1's but yours may be ok as its a late mk1. I cant see the senders being different.
