Im trying just to forget about it today

Nothing has gone right with my engine bay refurb: Firstly i got a massive run in the paint on the bay and whilst spraying my bonnet something was in the lacquer and its gone all over it Now to put the icing on the cake the weather has totally shut down and i cant do anything So at the moment i am extremely Fooked off with it and to be honest i feel like selling it i am sick of the sight of it at the moment

I thought i better try these things myself its all experience i guess

Cant make this one as my engine and box are out and ive gota spray my engine bay and get my 1300 in wont be done for a while

Im not to sure yet mate as im a bit skint after having to spend out on the engine, paint and a new clutch etc Do you have to have a ticket to go?

Cheers guys I didn't realise how easy it was i expected it to be alot harder It only took us about 3 and a bit hours to get it out I was well chuffed One of me mates is coming round today and we are going to start getting the engine bay all degreased and rubbed down etc I will keep you all updated

My mate came around today and we got the engine and box out and stripped down the engine bay ready for preparing and painting which i will start tomorrow heres some pictures of what we've been upto Hope you liked them

Ahh maybe i will get myself one of these ghia manilfolds then but would a 1300 mk1 escort sport one fit? I really need to get rid of my 2" single box ashley system its to noisey And my Dad wont even go in my car anymore he says he gets a headache

But the biggest question is do they make it any faster or is it just because it sounds faster? Also can you get a 4 branch manifold that will mate up to a standard mk1 escort exhaust?

If i fitted in my standard 1300 crossflow (65BHP) with the standard single barrel carb and standard 3 branch manifold would it be far different to having it fitted in with a 32DGV (1300GT) twin choke weber and 4 branch manifold with a 2" single box system? Just wanted to ask really as with the price of petrol if the weber aint gonna make much difference to the performance i wont bother fitting it and the same with the exhaust really

Autoglass can get them they just got one for my Mk1 Escort when they fitted my new screen

I only know about cable clutches really and don't really understand hydraulic clutches although i am pretty sure you will still have a separate place for your gearbox oil the same as my gearbox will have. If so then maybe try checking and filling up the gearbox oil if it needs it. Probably not the problem but worth a go

as above .... if you can find one at a sensible price that is!!! Exactly why i am going for the 1300. Plus try and find a really good one with genuine low mileage for a fair price.
