One thing i came across on my twin choke weber is the throttle shaft nut was overtightened and that was causing the throttle to stick on. I just loosened it 1/8 of a turn and it cured the problem. and that only stuck when the engine was hot. Definitely worth a look.

As above really i cant find anyone who can supply me with an exhaust sealing ring for my escort ive fitted a complete mk2 escort exhaust system from a ghia with a standard 4 branch manifold and just need the metal sealing ring for between the manifold and downpipe any ideas where i can get one? and also having trouble getting a standard air filter for the 1600 ghia standard airbox does could someone possibly measure their filter for me so i can match it up or a part number would be amazing if someone knows it cause the parts shop are useless, they sent me the one they said the computer says and its tiny looks like an 1100 one to me, they reckon they might have one thats 257mm diameter that might fit for a 1600ohc ? cheers

Thanks for all of the coments guys. Been busy today fitting a complete exhaust to the escort got it running and i need a new sealing ring for the downpipe to manifold flange its blowing like a good un tried to paste it for now but lasted about 2 miles so now i wont make the crawley meet

I think i would just do the mod on the tunnel as its alot cheaper and if the box goes bang you can replace it quickly and cheaply you can always revert it back if needed anyway if you cut it out and turn it 180 degrees using the template that retroford used.

Here we have a Transit MK3 Type 9 (5 speed) Gearbox Crossmember. This is used when converting a MK1/MK2 or MK3 Transit to a 5 Speed Type 9 Gearbox . It is in excellent condition and has already been painted satin black so looks nice and smart so it is ready to fit. £30 Collection from the Bromley kent area or I can wrap up and post for £20.

My 1972 Mk1 Escort 4 door with 1600 xflow fitted and lotus steels. And heres my Transit Mk1 1974 1700 v4 with an overdrive gearbox fitted Canterbury Camper Hope you like them

Here we have a Transit Mk1 V4 Gearbox removed from my 1974 MK1 Transit SWB Canterbury Camper (pop top roof) with only 49,000 miles.This was only removed due to an overdrive gearbox conversion. This gearbox is in perfect working order and was nice and smooth with no noises at all. This gearbox is ready to fit. £30 for the gearbox complete with the gearstick and gearknob. Sorry to hear the news mate. Main thing is that you're okay, bent metal can always be sorted with a bit of time and patience. Doesn't look to terrible to be honest mate will repair okay don't let it put you down. It wont bring the person who cut you up and drove off any good luck.
