  1. Corporate? In what way? And what wouldyou say it was lacking? I'm not really sure what's lacking, can't put my finger on it, the mag has a softer design than RF and I maybe that reflects on some of the cars, i'd obviously like to see more mk1's, but not concours trailer queens. Please take this as constructive criticism but you can tell that RF is written by the people for the people and when i'm reading it I feel like i'm back in the 80's wishing I could afford the loud & lowered RS2k or Mex with the big cibies.... Nostalgia, the reason I do now own a loud, low mex with big cibies I do take it as constructive mate, it's all good. By the people, for the people eh. Right. So you'd say it was more an attitude thing than content? I think obvously RF have done that on purpose and hats off to them, it works for its audience. Classic Ford has a different attitude. It's produced by the people for a different type of people if you see what I mean. We aim to be more er, inclusive on a larger scale I suppose would be the best term for it and try to appeal and entertain to a very wide audience: age, interests, tastes, attitude etc. This is what I think you're talking about. Where as RF appeals directly to you as it is aimed directly at the Ford fans who are a part of OSF and a similar target audience (as far as I read it) we aim to entertain and interest you guys plus lots of other types of groups spread across the classic Ford scene. I see what you picked up on there but I don't think thats it, I am also a member on another forum, where you are promoted quite heavily, and there members and cars are the same as on here but that isn't reflected in the mag... I think a clue is in the title - 'Classic' ford as compared to 'Retro' Ford. I dunno, maybe its a just place I am in at the moment . Don't get me wrong, credit where credits due, you have some great stuff in the mag. I guess to some it up, when my cars finished I never really imagined asking for a feature in 'Classic Ford', while planning the car its always been a cover shot with 'Retro'.
  2. ?????? go on then ben, tell us?

  4. to me it was one of the better issues recently but I do feel like the mag is lacking somethin, it feels more corporate, whereas RF feels like it is more for the people. I think this year will see a race for the best feature cars as there are a few due to be finished worthy of a cover shot in either mag! It's subscription time soon & I think ill be going RF and just picking out CFs when they have someting special.

  18. I contact Martin at Scottish Escort Owners Club to see what I could find out and this is his reply: "Hi Rich, Eric at Jem has an excellent reputation up here for his engines, I run one of his bottom ends with a full race spec head and its spot on. Machine work on the engines is very good, a 2.1 bottom end with one of his BVH heads, a kent FR33 cam, twin 45's etc made 178 bhp with good torque. I can't recommend them enough, when you call mention Scottish Old Skool Escorts and Martin & Craig recommended you. Martin" Thats all the recomendation I need
