  4. Dave and myself have today planned a lovely route with a mix of roads, quaint towns, magnificent scenery and 'somewhere a little different' as a lunch stop. We don't want to spoil the mystery but it will be very interesting to spend a couple of hours there with tea and coffee provided at a discounted entrance fee of £4 for adults and £1 for under 16"s. Please bring entrance fee with you as it is a nice place to eat your own packed lunch and is very interesting. If you don't want to go in, then that's fine too Like Comment

  8. Brilliant video Ross....love it ! Thanks for all your hard work. People are still buzzing now !
  9. Great pics Greg and nice to meet you . Glad you had such a nice day. Your car is amazingly oeiginal, unrestored, non concourse, and that is why it won the award. Ace, just ace ! Glad you enjoyed your bubbly too. Sorry it was only Aldi but that is all we could afford lol ! On the topic of forming a group, then I would strongly advise it. It is very rewarding, satisfying in the knowledge that like minded people who very often lice nearby get together occasionally and have a laugh and help each other out. Go for it ! Arrange a monthly meeting throughout the Summer months then see how it goes. It will grow from a few to quite a few in no time. Best of luck
  10. The XE setup is still for sale , soon to be on Ebay unless someone from here wants it ?
  11. Dear all I have decided to take my car to standard crossflow after 7 years of being embarrassed to lift the bonnet at shows ! Those of you who have heard it will know how fantastic it sounds, similar to a BDA on Weber twin 45's, and full Ashley single box exhaust system. I will be selling the complete setup. Everything you will need to drop straight into your Escort. Consisting of 1. C20 XE Red top standard 150 bhp engine which had a full bottom end rebuild 7 years ago, Done about 12 thousand miles sine then. Carefully driven, never raced or rallied just the odd foot to the floor to savour the sounds 2. Alloy bell housing. 3. MBE Distributor-less ignition system. 4. Engine mounts (once removed from the car) 5. Radiator with modified top neck The engine is still in the Escort at the moment and will be removed soon for the crossflow to be fitted and can be heard running and driven. I am located in Wrexham near Chester. Buyer collects unless local whereby it can be delivered at minimum cost. £ 2100 ovno Videos can be seen below..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26t-a38Asec https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLtuA230fbk

  16. That was Justin, one of our team. Still awaiting the photos but will let you know when / if they are available
  17. Yes a few sadly.......we had 47 instead of the 60 expected which was great, but sadly let sown by some who reserved places but did not turn up, without any contact either. We may have another method of reserving places next year. Also think the weather worked against us. It was such a nice weekend that many may have chosen to do other things instead which is understandable
  18. Thanks for the positive comments everyone....pleased you enjoyed it. Seems like it hasn't stopped raining since, so we were very lucky ! See you all next year
  19. Great pics....certainly was a superb tour. The stella brewery tour was incredible and followed by even more Belgian beer made Saturday night a little hazy ! Great cars, great banter
  20. Thank you everyone who attended the great day out we enjoyed when we had our 5th Midlands to Wales tour on Sunday and special thanks especially to Ross MK2 who has worked tirelessly coordinating the list, making plaques etc . Without young blood like Ross, these events would quickly come to a stop, so well done to him The day was hot, sunny, the new venue worked well and the feedback we have received has been complimentary and positive. Please see below, pics from throughout the day.......some really cracking cars, and cracking people. Roll on next year Here's the service bus packed and ready to go the night before the event.....loaded with spare cans of petrol, home made cake and most important of all, the 'Tow-Rope'' Then on the morning of Sunday, we arrived at the starting point to be joined by the Midlanders..... Then we had a quick brew and a welcome briefing with an overview of the route.... New tablecloths lol..... And off we went for our spin......waking up the sleepy market town of Ruthin, and up around the area of Moel Fammau and the Clwyd Gate Pass, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty and back through the historic rally area of Clogaenog Forest..... And we had a stop off half way for a catch up and a brew........and a bite to eat ...... Then, after lunch, we headed off for our 2nd leg, across the EVO Triangle, to Denbigh, back along the backroads to Llyn Brenig and back to our venue before the final departure. Tractors coused a slight delay in timings but nothing major Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves..... And then at the end we had a little presentation for some of the magnificent cars that turned up. Well done to all who attended, but here are those shortlisted... 3rd......Was Mark Poole with his lovely standard orange MK2 Escort 1300 sport as seen at the top of the thread 2nd was Tony Brown with his original Red MK1 Mexico and 1st place was this beauty with a warrior engine..... Congratulations to everyone, and thanks again. See you next year ! Aled and Dave (North Wales Classic Fords) Ross (Old Skool Ford)
