Im not a great fan of Escorts, pretty much taken up by Forum and Magazine coverage, so was pretty bored on here and with the mags as nothing was flicking my switch. Went to a 100e forum.... totally overdosed on that. Lurked about on a few Rod sites, no matter how hard they try.... it really is about the most expensive car. Retrorides and a few others are great, as they dont care about money and bragging rights the variety is just off the scale. But got bored of that too. ..... however, always come back to OSF....... its like a comfy pair of old slippers Cant see that Retards Club or any other book will change the appeal of this Forum.... its the holy grail
  2. Mike sold it on as he has bitten the bullet and started to gather the bits together to build a car which I personally have wanted since being at school..... very lucky boy!!! As far as the old E goes, it's not really done to my taste, but seems to have been changed to a high standard.
  3. Yup, ill have some of this. I know a few that will attend too.

  5. wow. it'd take me 9 seconds to realize the lights were green.
  6. Bet that guy with the Saxon would love this
  7. Gatwick South has a drop zone..... can't see them charging for that
  8. I'd say watch the insurance premiums sky rocket as companies will be reluctant to cover untested cars. I understand voluntary tests will still be available, so the responsible amongst us still have the choice.
  9. I like Maize & Spruce........ but if there was ever a colour that suited a car, then this wins hands down

    what year

1990 Living at home, just passed driving test. Racing up and down the west wickham to Addington mad mile, then meeting half way down in the car park surrounded by Cortina's, Granada's and Escorts, mostly hand-me-down cars from parents or older brothers. Cramming my mates Granada Estate full of Audio for one of those pointless and embarrassing 'sound off's Buying bits from Super Accessories Lewisham, Croydon Race and Rally and Ripspeed. Heston Services, Thurrock, Crystal Palace and Chelsea Cruises Great days where the only bills you had to worry about were for fags and petrol.
  11. A newish Rs2000 and a fella with no lid, no cage and no roof!!! Madness
  12. I know your all still buzzing from your trip to the pod so I'll keep this brief! I couldn't make CF so thought I'd drop in to Boxhill before everyone left. There was a White mk1 Escort that turned up, bubbles, banded mk2 steels and a zetec with a lotus cover. It was a square headlight job, so not sure if it was an original twink? I'm not an Escort man but the level of workmanship on this car just blew me away, anyone know anything about it, if there are any pics or it's had a feature??? Reg began 'PJN'
  13. I'm surprised with u lot... no ones mentioned the pink oboe yet! Anyway.... Me, percussion, congas etc.....

    Credit crunch

I'm an Immigration Officer of 20 years (que death threats) and our department has been affected too. You may have seen the news, long queues at Heathrow, three hour waits etc etc. Well, it's a balance isn't it. We've lost 25% of staff to voluntary redundancy offered to cut numbers by the Tory Government, hours cut to save overtime payments, but are still expected to admit and remove people as before........ all this before the Olympics, take my advice and travel way before or after the games!!! Picking up a few points on Immigration matters discussed here, one of the first things I trained on years ago is historical migration. Thousands of years ago advanced infastructure was only possible because of the vast number of slaves brought in to do the work a prosperous nation refused to do themselves!!! Over time, they had families of their own and so settled into that way of life. Friends and family saw the benefits and quickly followed........ this story speaks for itself and brings us to current day. Every country needs to embrace skills, materials and money from abroad, we wouldnt survive without it. What the argument SHOULD be is more restriction on numbers, with adequate staff to enforce it as opposed to an NF/BNP attitude. I also totally agree with Vista, Labour made such a balls up, massive cuts are necessary, any responsible government should see this. Let's face it, it's like a parent telling us to stop spending until we are flush..... we all know they are right, but we just don't want to do it!!!!

  17. How can I say this....... most of mine are in the downstairs bog. It's the only place I can get any peace.
  18. ..... unless of course you go for the 107e. What about the Capri/Classic I think they are late 50s? Could be wrong though....
  19. Standard 3 speed 100e will be a mare as a daily. I'd consider a 105e as a good perky all rounder if your staying standard. Just makes it into the 1950's bracket too.
  20. Model A highboy, a 33 coupe, or a Jag 420g. However, osf wise - Russ' 105e and a warm dry garage to keep it in. What a motor
