Brings back memories of my old four door Mk1 Escort, had springs assisted to raise the back end up, painted the rear axle red, fixed a red fog light behind the rear valance which was hidden from view and wired this into the lights. Got stopped by a guy one night on the Thanet way as he thought my car was on fire, he wouldn't believe me till i turned the lights off, never got pulled myself, but a friend of a mate at college did in the Canterbury area. I remember my mate Rich's Mk2 Cortina was jacked up, he took it to Lydden Hill circuit when they had the Christmas tree lights, not quite the quarter mile of Santa Pod, but was fun watching him, he ended up damaging his axle, another guy i can remember breaking his haft shafts which ended his day

I would get some extra locks fitted, if hinges on the out side fit some additional coach bolts.

I woud say the cortina axle is to wide, use a 105e axle, you will have to change the spring mounts, the 105e ones are to wide and in the wrong place. I've fitted 7'' wolfrace slots with 205/60 tyres, reccommend a 'A' frame or some tramp bars to stop the body from moving side ways when cornering

this was a freak accident, how often does a tyre blow, which seems to be the cause of his accident. Do they ban drag racing or even formula 1 because of an accident, NO. Richard would have been aware of the dangers in driving such a fast vehicle, if he wasn't happy he wouldn't take the risk. He is a true petrol head.

when i had my 107e Prefect i just took the rotor arm out, so no one could start it, it was always garaged when it was at home.

i would stick with black, you can't go wrong. it would match the exterior and the piping on the seats

So sad to hear about Richard Hammond, my thoughts are with him and his family. I hope he pulls through, Top Gear won't be the same without him.

Hi, i had my bumpers on my 107e Prefect chromed by the London Chroming Company. First class job, they cost me about £250 for two quarter bumpers & one rear bumper.

I think both mags are great as i buy both of them. I hope they both go there so all of us that can't make it can see a double spread of cars.
