  1. hello can zakspeed arches be fitted to the ford anglia 105e? and if so which ones? i.e capri / escort etc. I wanting a mega wide arch look for it to suit the new much wider track I have running on it. If someone knows if they can could you please pass on as much infor about it as you can. i.e would you would perhaps have to change to make them fit if at all they can be. many thanks Paul
  2. hello all perhaps you can help me here. MY project 105e is running a much wider track ( best part of 16") and needs a wickedly wild body kit making, as per the old racing anglias used on circuits not grassers etc. I'm not sure how such body kits are made and whether or not they can actually be purchased. I'm therefore looking to old skool to perhaps supply pictures of any 105e with wide arches from as many angles as possible for reference or perhaps even some technical advice of who to speak to or where to look. I've provided a link below for you to catch my drift as I'm set on keeping the wide track look. anyone who can help I would be very grateful. http://www.fordanglia.com/index.php?opt ... &Itemid=53 sincree thanks Paul [/img]
  3. xflow is the natural choice for reasonable simplicity but you haven't stated your expectations. i.e will 120bhp commonly tuned xflow state satisfy? if so then it's a no brainer
  4. you can enjoy the dirty jobs you thought you hated. I started quite a big project a while ago now and did quite a bit before shelving it as life got in the way (career change etc) and have put off starting it again due to lots of grinding welding required still. anyhow, I have begun again and have surprised myself how much I'm enjoying it. I've got 8 weeks off in 2 and have big plans to really make some progress. will post a thread at end with hopefully something to show for it but don't want to reveal hand now and get pats on back for fear of standing back and admiring what I've done instead of cracking on with it. anyone else felt like this?
  5. sorry guy's there a bucket IMO. whats that big plastic fin all about anyway! the RS was better looking and sounds sooooo much better. just arguing the OSF case
  6. if you have an OSF that goes though that makes it even sweeter. I had my anglebox on road less than a day when a 220 turbo rover dude and girl friend were laughing at me waiting at some lights. pissed him right off when I left him in my wake even with all that whizz, pop and dump bag shit. couldn't bring himself to look over at the next set of lights but I was glowing inside. I'm smiling as I write this. ah the memories
  7. anyone got IRS. want to hear opinions on how good the sierra lsd is. I've heard they are pretty strong but being viscous lsd I wonder how severe they are compared to say plate diffs. any cossie conversions or past owners think they were ok for road or race?
  8. I spoke to fostek today who build rear axles for rally (based in Cramlington) His comments were the sierra based diffs are pretty strong and strong enough for my intentions. My intentions with this will be mostly road but the occasional 1/4 mile. it's a 3.0 twin turbo with 300bhp or there abouts and I was told by many that my English axle lsd would be out of it's depth here unless some money was threw at it. as for the camber issue. I have noticed that the rears of sierras are quite severe in this region. is there a way of relieving this? thanks for comments
  9. hello all Anyone got a good idea as to how strong the sierra lsd diff is? I have one of those Xr4i lsd diffs but haven't a great deal of experience with them. I wonder what sort of horses they can cope with and just how fierce an lsd they are. anyone got an opinion here. I hear lots of cosworths boosting and boosting without much mention of rear end work and I presume the cossie lsd can only be the same as the xr4i. if you know please pass a comment but no guesses please if that doesn't seem too rude.
  10. I've seen lots of OSf's with great engines then skimp on a descent lsd. the guy's are right. buy a descent one and you will wish you did it years ago. the best fun you can have
  11. what sort of lock up was it built with. my english axle was loaded up quite heavy and made all kinds of noises on tight cornering at low speeds on tarmac when grip was good. remember these friction plates are trying to limit the operation of the differential purpose.i.e one wheel revolving more than other as you corner. noises are very normal from these but I suppose if you have not had one before the first experience can be concerning. you must also recognize that I've not heard the diff so if the diff is F***ed then it will also wine because of that.
  12. you head has 8 valves numbered 1 to 8 from front of engine to back. turn crank until valve 1 is down (fully open) and adjust valve 8 clearance. this is what the guy's are telling you. the sum adds to 9. i.e when valve 2 is down adjust valve 7. the sum of both still equals 9 your clearances will be different from exhaust to inlet so be sure you keep your eye on which you are adjusting. hope this helps
  13. don't spoil it guy's it's OK and well finished but only a Sierra not OSF
  14. there are many 80's bands I loved so much during my time at school and have spent the last 10 years trying to see as many as I can in concert. here are some greats of that time and some odd ones you just might have forgot about. The 80's was ribbed so much for the music but I'm sorry folks, it's still sounds great to me even today see what you think! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EA9gFbvUv0A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZ3oMwhZTlw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pk30a0qsVIk And my fav band that even today is still underrated. best voice out there and I've heard plenty! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYbVwBMkl6w
  15. funny that! whilst I have seen some bargains on ebay I think people can get carried away with the auction side of it and I have seen some ridiculous prices for stuff you could buy new for cheaper. That said any right minded fool would not expect to get much for 200 quid. for that sort of money I would be happy salvaging a few panels of it as donors at most. I would have told him to f off during all those questions and said he's not getting it no matter how much he bids!
  16. not what you want to hear but yo have made me smile with your true heart felt feelings on your car and neighbors. life's a bitch then you die! I have went through similar periods in my time and truly know exactly how you feel. Being different and holding onto these old motors can sometimes bring criticism from those around who drive modern stuff that supposedly never break down. no amount of explanation will ever make them see eye to eye with you so just get on with it and try to take the positives out of it. good luck and all the best
  17. I would like to catch up with you guys here if thats ok I live near Richmond so it's very close. cheers Paul
  18. I agree that takes some beating. he can't of seen Herbie then!
  19. this will spoil it all check this link out for bad taste mods
  20. I really do hate bullshitters and I hate those even more who recognize you know a bit about motors and still try to bullshit you with complete lies or miss understood crap. I'm sorry if I offend anyone here but can say I have owned an impreza but I have found many of owners of these fast and furious vehicles and a like think that the 2.0 turbo is some kind of miracle worker and can produce vast power with no lag or problems what so ever. Don't get me wrong, I have come across some corker statements from OSF owners also and thought it would be funny to see what belter of lines they may have heard in their time.
  21. here is mine. a picture of my commuter and my Anglia which is now stripped and in middle of long term project [/img] [/img]
  22. top stuff very respectable time
  23. you are making sense but it's too sensitive I feel. words on a screen don't give feeling as to how you might want it interpreted. You can say fu*koff to someone and mean it with anger or just banter when your ribbing your mate over something. My grip of the language can leave a lot to be desired an I was born here so I just take it as non offensive ramblings first. I hate this about Politicians of today. They ramble on about non offensive crap to gain popularity votes and steer clear of the big decisions that need to be made to govern the country for fear of upsetting the voters. I think I've stretched this debate a bit far now and said my two pennies worth with two posts and will leave for people to make own minds up. all the best what ever your mods
  24. I'm sure we all have a story to tell so here is mine. I was 30 at time and had just finished my Anglia that I still own with a screaming xflow in it and was blasting around like a boy racer of old. You could have heard me for miles when during a brief quiet moment cruising on a main rd I spied a police van in my rear mirror. I said to mrs Oh Shit I've had it here, they have heard me and thats it. keeping my head down they overtook me and both gave me a smile and a big thumbs up. yes we are boy racers of old but I think there is something cool about that if it sounds cheesy and think the OSF bit was what got me off. P.s I'm a bit more sensible these days and keep the silly business away from public built up areas.
