  1. Right ok, so sounds like most of you have had similar issues with east kent like i have in the past even though it wasnt on a classic ford! I think i might use classic trim for the seals and aldridge for the interior trim. I already have MK1 twin cam seats front and rear so thank fully i dont have to worry about seats. Very good info from mk2 matt! Thanks for that buddy. Rob
  2. Nice one lads, thanks for your information and experiences! It looks like i will just mix and match a bit between the companies and see how my wallet copes haha. Interesting to hear the different views with east kent supplies! And yes its very true you get what you pay for, i would just be worried that east kent and also classic trim use the same seal supplier/manufacturer but yet charge different amounts. Thanks again, and anyone else with more info will always be appreciated. Thanks Rob
  3. Alright Men, well as per the title really, i am after advice from people who have used the above trim suppliers and tell me what you think of them? I am buying all new interior including carpet, door cars, headlining, window seals, door seals etc etc for my Mk1 Escort and i am stuck on who to buy the products from. East kent trim sell a full mk1 escort seal kit for £367, but ive used these seals in the past and havent been over impressed as they split on the edges over time. Classic trim do a complete seal kit for £560, which is a lot more cash but if the quality is better then i would be happy! Has anyone bought seals from either company? As for door cards, carpets etc choosing between aldridge and classic trim is kind of like choosing your mum or dad lol! Both have their perks but ultimately its down to cost and quality. Any advice or experiences would be much appreciated. Cheers Rob
  4. That looks the tits! Top job that man! Hope they dont corrode away to nothing though, as they are no longer protected. What about laquer over the top? I know it may give a slight shine, but hey, better than corrosion
  5. No worries mate! Only a few quid aint it. Cheers Rob
  6. Hi there Johnnyh! Im gonna have to pull out im affraid, due to im selling my car (house moving forces sale ) Im bloody gutted to say the least. So you can rip up my cheque and take me off the list (no.5 ATC 7***) Sorry if ive caused any inconvenience mate. But at least it allows one of the reserve peeps to get on the list. Cheers Rob
  7. Alrite there boys, i was reading through the latest copy of Retro Ford the other day, and looking in ore of the Duratec engined concours looking Capri, and i have no complaints about the car what so ever, which i usually do have as i like to pick any holes i can in a car! haha, Sorry. But it was the photo on page 123 of the underside which made me cringe. Not because there was anything wrong with it, but for the fact the car was jacked up on the ramp ON THE FLOOR PAN!!!! Not the chassis rails! Well ok, only one of the legs on the ramp was supported on the floor, and the rest was on the chassis rails, but still come on! take some care who ever done that! I do hope it never bent the floor!
  8. Thanks, for the comments lads, but im affraid there is some very bad news on the horizon! Im having to stop the project and sell up Which is a big kick in the balls, as ive had to do this with my classic ford collection before, but this time for a different reason. My parents have decided to move house, after 27 years! Problem being there wont be room at this new place they are looking at for all my cars. (2 AE86's, Mitsubishi Starion 2.6 Widebody, MK2 Escort Project and my Carina GTI towcar for my Hillclimber) I wont be selling my AE86's, as these are my babies, so im selling my Starion, along with my cool mk2 project. I know im going to regret this hugely, but its out of my hands. So im going to finish welding the shell, and sell it serperatly to the parts. So if any of you are interested in any of the parts pictured, drop me a message. I will soon put them in the forsale section. I hope youve got alot of money hanging around mate, as importing AE86's isnt cheap! The cheapest import your gonna get once landed is £3k, and that will be the roughest ones available in Japan, as they are a very valuable and rare car over there too. Dont forget the shipping and handling costs, will never be less than £1100. And yes my AE86 is 20v. I bought the car as a bog std UK spec 1 owner from new minter over 4 years ago, and transformed it. But not after a couple years of hard graft and £15k!!!!!! I wont bore you with the spec, i'll be here for years telling ya! Here a few pics for ya (sorry for disrupting the classic ford scene peeps ) This is what it looked like when i first had it back in the day, in bog std form. And this is it now: Enjoy The car has changed a little bit since them pics, but remains very similar!
  9. Holy christ! That is one sweet sweet anglebox! Top job mate!
  10. haha, dude read the 1st part of my post! The cars aint nothing to do with me! Dont know whos they are or where! But yeah! Gutting for who ever owns them!
  11. Stolen from another forum im on! Not sure if its already been posted up here but thought id do it just incase! I dont know who's cars theses were, so dont ask me any questions about them
  12. I paid £175 for a set of 5 brand new Yoko A539's in 175/50 13's! So thats £35 a tyre! Cheap if you ask me!
  13. Id get it just for the log book if it were tax exempt!
  14. Looks smart mate! Gives the car that original classic look still. Id personally have to have 7j, or 8j's but im just a wide boy offset queen! haha.
  15. Yep couldnt agree more! Awesome quality, and can make a set of wheels to your own spec's! Great for big dish! I was talking to him for ages on saturday about all his rims! I will defo be buying a couple of sets of wheels off of him. Set of the Escort, and a set for my AE86. Hes a real nice chap too, which always helps!
  16. Cool, cheers man! Yeah i love the 4AGE! best engine ever made in my opinion! Yeah the BD is probably, the best, but the 4AGE is more reliable, and within touch of a normal person, e.g. dont have to sell your soul to buy one
  17. Im affraid i had to fork out to dolla for the seals, from east kent trim supplies! I hope shes gonna be cool, actaully i know she will lol Damn, it you lot all prefer the green! I couldnt get anyone to like it on other forums! I think im gonna flip a coin now! Cheers for the comments guys. Havnt got any exciting updates im affraid! Its been welding, and more welding Ive decided to also go for a big tunnel now, even though the T50 Toyota gearbox isnt massive, its sits on a 35 degree angle, making it too wide for the standard tunnel! Time to start chopping the floor out! Couple more parts that turned up recently: A Frame kit from Milton. (still awaiting my panhard rod kit) And full polybush set: I'll get some piccies up when more interesting progress has been carried out Cheers Rob
  18. Yeah yeah! *rolleyes* haha. On a serious note I hope the magazine keeps on going strong, unlike some others that are all going down the pan! Got any pics of your old mk1 then?? Come on, blow off the dust from the photo album and tell us the story's! Did Alto, take you out in the mk1?
  19. Absolutely loving the Bubble arched MK1 in the latest issues boys! I couldnt agree more with you Mr Morley, in your write up, saying it is just perfect! (unlike the McLaren F1 ) What a wicked job youve got! Go all over the country, drooling over OSF's! Lucky f**kers haha
  20. For me, its also got to be the mk2 mex And also the Blue 100E with the banded 5.5j's with bike carbed pinto! Is that this "guvnors" 100e you lot are on about? Oh and in the latest issue of the mag, the Silver and Blue mk1! Alto's! That is hot hot hot! Where do you retro ford boys find these motors in other country's? Do they come to you, or do you find them?

Good going fella! There was some sweet osf's there thats for sure! I was in my element! Dribble everywhere! Oh and some other substance due to the virtually naked women walking around! hubba hubba! I wont start a new thread as i only got a couple of pics! My camera packed up real early, and even then didnt take full size pics! Modern technology my arse Here are the only ones i got Nick Stagg's mk1 RS1600! With Stagg's engine building capabilities, i have no doubt the BD has more than 250bhp!
  22. It hasnt got RS front wings booooooo haha
  23. That was on ebay wasnt it?? As im sure i was looking at that earlier in the week, or last week. Id cut the roof off! Someone who has a piece of shit sunroof on theyre mk1 might wanna weld on a real roof someday!
  24. Sexy sexy! Real sweet mk1 mate! What does it handle like with the engine back there? I know its meant to be better and all, but most importantly, does it still drive like an Escort!? I hope so
  25. Cool! I like it! Its very simple! Just a lowered white mk2 on RS 4 spokes, but looks the tits! Top job fella!
