I have to say that I am on the fence with this one, I can see for's and against's. I don't feel that it is my place to tell someone what they should or should not wear, we live in a free society. I do however feel that when in Rome, and ours is not a Muslim country. I really don't see why we pussy foot about and allow (in fact pay for) all ethnic minorities their own communities, they should integrate with ours, although that is easier said than done. How many on here would befriend a Pole or a Nigerian immigrant? Not many judging by some of the comments in this thread. If I lived in, say, Spain, I would not expect the Spanish to accomodate me, I would learn their language and customs. I do feel that the Burkha is an unnecessary uniform, forced on the women by the men, who generally from these countries treat their women as second class citizens. I think that the comments about women wearing burkhas because they are mingers is probably just misguided, the vast majority of younger asian women are gorgeous imho. If there was a referendum to vote on whether the burkha can be worn in this Country, which way would I vote? Probably against it being worn, for the same reason as chavs and footy fans etc who cover their faces with a scarf should not be allowed to dress like that...

Saw a picture of him in the paper that was taken a couple of months ago Sad when anyone dies, hardly looked after himself though did he? Was a heavy drinker and smoker iirc

Surely if you are using a dolly, i.e. the front wheels of the car being towed suspended off the road, it does indeed become a trailer, but the brakes have to work on all wheels of a trailer, and they won't work on the rear wheels of the car being towed, so a towing dolly is also illegal. This is an extract from the page quoted earlier in this thread... "if the trailer (regardless of mass) is fitted with a braking system, then all brakes in that system must operate correctly".

Two guys in a pick up truck today knocked on our door and asked if we had any scrap. Wifey said no, and they got in their lorry, drove out of our close and left the housing estate. Didn't ask at any other houses except ours And yes, we have now cleared anything nick-able off our front garden, locked the garage (that has Baz105e's Anglia in it!) and advised the Police, who actually sent a car round! Top work!

I'm sure most people would hate the idea though. I for one think there is nothing cool about an old Granada, stretched or not. There are lots of other cars I would pick over that. I see your point Gaz, but if it was a Mk2 Granny Limo or a Rover 75 I think I know the choice! lol

Apparently Ian Huntley had a few not guilty things on his record, but they were ignored because they were not guilty's... Maybe the reason they are there?

Just did a course after being caught for 36 in a 30. Cost £67 for a 5 hour course, wasn't too bad. Went with Mrs Smudger (we got caught by different cameras within 3 weeks) and she got the giggles! The Instructor passing wind didn't help the giggle situation! If you get offered the course, they are different costs and different formats in different Counties. Mine was a 5 hour course in Nottinghamshire, and all classroom based. The one offered by West Sussex Safety Partnership (even though I got caught in East Sussex) was £105 and involved some practical work as well, so shop around if you are on the border of several Counties! And you don't get points if you do the course, but should you advise your insurance Company so that they can bump up your premiums?

Got my State Pension, for what it's worth Got a good (Railway) Company pension Been paying £40 a month (matched) into an AVC I reckon I should manage over £20,000 p.a. on those pensions. I have been paying my AVC since I was 32, I would suggest that everyone pays in as much as they can into a pension scheme as soon as they can, the earlier you pay, the better the payout. I know 60 or 65 seems a long way off to you guys, it did for me not so long ago, but I am now 50. I could be retiring in ten years! Where did all those years go?

I know my political pursuasion lie somewhat left of Scott's, but I will be voting Labour. Imho, the Tories are not in touch ith the man in the street, for example, Cameron was a mate at school of Boris Johnson! It can be argued that Labour did this, ories did that etc, but I remeber the Thatcher years, unemployment was high, nationalised industries were privatised at rediculously low sell off prices, and a plethora of diferent reasons I could not ever vote Tory.

Time we fooked labour after all, they've fooked the UK! You live in the middle of the coalfields and say labour have fooked the Country? Maggie Thatcher did a far better job at shafting the man in the street imho. -
Welcome back, seems aaaaaaaages!!
