  2. The back of the car park where we park the cars is up for sale, as well as the big area of car park that is chained off, apparently there is planning permission for 6 houses on the car park. I am not aware that there are any plans to close the Festival itself, it is quite a busy place...
  3. Yes Trev, Paul who works as a mechanic at the bowl
  4. No, people do not vote for a Prime Minister, they vote for a Member pf Parliament in their area, who is usually a member of a particular political party, and the Party that has most Members in the House of Commons chooses the Prime Minister. That's how it works in this country of ours, no one votes for a PM...
  5. They reckoned that the 500 was the best of the triples didn't they? Made them in 250, 350, 400, 500 and 750's if I remember correctlyThe early ones had pretty good performance, but drum brakes all round!
  6. I used to have a KH250, and although not as fast as the RD's or the X7's, I think it was a much prettier bike and it handled pretty well too, once I put Avon Roadrunners on it.
  7. Tash, Burns and myself all bowl on a Thursday, so would not be able to make Thursdays...
  8. A friend of mine is having a garage sale, and possibly a bbq and a drink or two too. He is just testing the water at the moment, so I would appreciate some idea of numbers who may be interested. He is thinking of it being in early April. He is into Classics, Capris and Corsairs, but as you know a lot of the parts are common to all '60s Fords, and there will be something for everyone, I have seen inside his garages!! Just post here if you may be interested in a beer, a bbq, a chin wag and possibly some of those bits you can't find elsewhere Bryan

  11. I think that he had been suffering mental problems since he let his dogs die. And would sending him down have made any difference to the dogs or anyone else for that matter? We don't know what sort of guy he is, what the situation was regarding what happened, who are we to judge when we don't know all the details of the case?

  18. Taken from... http://www.solihull.gov.uk/tradingstandards/pricingofgoodsandservices.htm What the Law Says Normally, when goods are offered by a retailer there must be a written indication of the selling price If goods are exposed for sale, the price can be on the goods themselves or on a ticket price list close to them. If the goods are not on view, the price must be on a price list or in an advertisement or catalogue Each price must be unambiguous, easily identifiable with the goods, and clearly legible Any price given for goods or services must not be misleading All retail prices must include VAT. If there are any non-optional extras which must be purchased with the goods, their price must either be included in the main price or displayed just as prominently together with an explanatory statement Price comparisons should be factual. Do not use descriptions such as 'worth' or 'valued at'. The abbreviation 'RRP' and 'man, rec. price' are permissible. All other abbreviations should be avoided. All price companies must be clearly explained and must not mislead in any way. You should compare like with like and where a reduced price is claimed then the product should have been offered for sale at the Higher price for at least 28 days in the previous 6 months in the same outlet. If your comparison does not meet these criteria then you should provide an explanation which is not ambiguous, easily identifiable and clearly legible to the consumer. But, taken from.... http://www.telford.gov.uk/Advice+benefits/Trading+standards/Trading+Standards+FAQs.htm Q. I have seen a CD player on sale in a shop that I want to buy. However, when I tried to buy it the manager told me it was the wrong price. Can I make the shop sell it to me at the displayed price? A. No. You cannot make a trader sell anything to you if they don't want to. In civil law when goods are displayed in a shop, a catalogue or an advertisement, this is called an 'invitation to treat'. This means that it is an invitation for the consumer to make an offer to the shop to buy the goods, and it is up to the shop whether or not they want to accept that offer. However the shop might have committed a criminal offence. This is because the Consumer Protection Act 1987 says that traders must not display misleading prices. You could report this to Trading Standards who may investigate the matter, however if this was a 'one-off' genuine mistake they would be unlikely to take any action.

If I remember correctly, the front engine mounts on the Betas failed because of rust and the engines fell out onto the road...
  20. True this. If its an admin error they spot prior to taking your money, they can charge you the 'normal' price. But they didn't notice the wrong price, Posse did, so they should have charged the advertised price...
  21. My brother tried a ramp roll over twice in a Fiat 500, but his weight stopped it actually rolling (he was a fat guy then thoug!) Wolsley 1500 worked for me, won it with 2 3/4 rolls!

  23. What do you mean, makes us look like a bunch of knobbers? Are you saying that that's not a requirement for participating on OSF?
  24. I see it was registered in ************* was probably a half way house exchange location, and Tesco was an easy place to find... Thanks for all your congratulatory messages, I must admit it felt good to perhaps be helping someone, and as it seems that this was probably a genuine sale, I'm sure those involved will not mind either...
