Hell yeah! Next time come thru Columbus Ohio, so we can do a rescue here! Returning for the Capri Swarm on Labor Day weekend? Here in Columbus, Ohio. Celebrating 40 years of Capri in North America. You would be a massively welcome addition. Any way we can help, contact Team Blitz. Parts cost a little. Tech tips are free! -

Oh jeesh. Just got my mag in the mail. I'm well turned purple with blushing. Thanks to the selection committee, I'm all squishy and itchy with embarassment. The wife wants to meet Queen Liz, figures I can arrange it now that she's married to such a fancypants celeb. R-r-r-r-r-r..! -

Fantastic, can't wait to see the Mk1 V8 Capri spread. Those are two super fine cars, and built right. And used regularly with gusto. Another fine issue, kudos to Si and The Gang on the great coverage of Classic Fords from all over the world! -
OK, but who's on Phil Glenister?
-
What does "not too expensive" mean to you?
-
"I dunno.... I just got here myself..."
-
Try L4DY and P!G then!! OK, lady and pig (cringing, expecting a loud noise to happen...............)

Meh, the Lima OHC has its big fanbase. We HAVE to tune them here, because the Pinto OHC motor left these shores in 1974 never to return again. So, other than specialists (like us), the landscape is pretty dried up for Pinto OHC spares. I particular, given their junkyard value, the turbo-injected Lima 2.3L is in favor with budget rodders. It's heavy. It's horribly balanced (almost no counterweights on the crank). But it's robust and dirt cheap. They can make 300 horse with turbo and some trix.
-
Yeah, these chicks do the job. Quite well. Proper jappo recycling, with all the requisite H&S (over here OSHA) precautions. I love this scene. Go girls! Do a proper job!
-
Pollitt shoulda bot this Pinto instead of the Bowel Movement. At least it could be loaned out for the remake of the "Blues Brothers", where the Pinto had its biggest moment in movie history. The 2.3L ain't a Pinto OHC. Yes it's an OHC. Yes it's in a Pinto. No, it's not a Pinto OHC. It's a Lima OHC, and not a single part (including the drain plug) interchanges with a Pinto OHC. Think the only Lima 2.3L the UK got was under the bonnet of Andy Rouse's BTCC Sierra, where he ran a 2.3L turbo for a season or two instead of the Cossie YB. Norm EDIT: Ya farking me? If I type "S-I-E-R-R-A", the site automagically transmogrifies it to "jelly mould"?

AC-DC and Zep already mentioned, as they are indispensible. I'll add ZZ Top, CCR, Steppenwolf, B52s, Rammstein, Cake (esp "Going The Distance"), War, Dylan, BTO, Travelling Wilburys, Highwaymen, Tull, Moody Blues, Dick Dale, Torquays, Blondie, got lots more, including Wagner's Ring Trilogy (drive at 3AM across The Great Salt Lake to "Flight of the Valkyrie" and you'll know).

Good God, Chris. One week hospitalized for body scares, now you need institutionalizing for psychiatric disturbance, my man. Are ya shaggin me? A BMW is antithetical to Old Skool Ford ownership. And you, my laddie, hold higher office as scribe and eventmeister, at that. I urge you to go read the chapters in Walton's "Capri: D&CH" about the defection by Neerpasch from Ford Competition and his homologation treachery with the CSL once he got to BMW. Sure, you say, but Norm, that was 35 years ago. You must have chilled out in the meantime? NAH BABY!!! NAH!!! Die evil BMW barstewards. May yer little propeller hats seize solid and the resultant torque snap yer pencil necks like the chicken peckers and sod scratchers you are down in Bavar!!! FORD Forever! BMW Never! Oi! But I really have no strong opinions on this matter. Drive what you like....

Meanwhile, over on the RX7 and Z-car forums, they are talking up OSFs in their chit chav rooms? Ya think? LOL There is no more soul-less, uninspired, and derivative car industry on Urth than the japanese car industry. They can squeeze every bit of vigor even out of stuff like an NSX supercar. It screams bland. And piloting one is an experience in utter remoteness from the joy of driving. It has only gotten worse lately. Whatever "driver-ness" was instilled in the original Z-cars and RX's, it has trickled out, and now their successors are hermaphroditic bores. Fast, expensive, heavy bores. But I have no real opinions on the matter.....

Give each Dakar entry one of these vehicles: With one of these mounted up top: Now THAT'S motoring! I'm in. 550 Dakar entries, problem solved. Next?

There's be cures for that, and we'll find you a girlie who can set ye right. -

As the Capri comes up to lap the Escort once again.......... was that what ye meant, me boyee? -
NOTHING beats creaming a BitchMoanWhine propellerhead. NOTHING! Oi! (Really, it's not the bimmers themselves that suck. It's the people (most) who own them. Especially the widebody suburban twats. Really has become a girl marque more and more here anyway, as BMW offers A/T on all future M-models along with arse warmers....)

I'm writing this from my hospital bed..but i'm ALL CLEAR now
Team Blitz replied to RFChris's topic in CHIT CHAT
You're a true-blue retro Fordman, Chris! Still thinking ovally whilst horizontal in the Krankenhaus. Get patched up soon and back home to that slick JPS Mk2 you've got to drive your girl around in, 'K? In your corner, mate, Norm -
Used to like BS, but he turned twat. Started yapping about who we should VOTE for. It's like shuddup and play the harmonica, SFBs... The last time this guy had to worry about where his rent money was coming from was the early '70s. There's a lot of people who can't afford his utopian commie vision. Stick to singing about chicks and cars, ma--aaa-a-aaa-n. Pass the bong.

Good god, Dave. I hope you don't get suspended for that!!!!
