From above it is possible. Just! You have to get the front of the car very high and put the engine in at a very steep angle, not a easy job. The easiest way is to get the car in the air, slide the engine in from below, and lower the car down on top of it. The x member will have to come off either way.

185/60R13 is a good compromise between your speedo being fairly accurate and practicality. Youll get better acceleration as well. For looks go for 175/50's.

Yeah I know what you mean. i thought white would look cool but after seeing that photoshopped pic, now Im not so sure. I want to make sure it looks retro and so far I think Im swaying towards all silver or Black and silver like my existing rims. Well like I said, I wouldnt buy a new one. The TDIs are a great engine but the petrols are very average and poor compared to the new Ford lumps and the Japs. Unfortently the current VWs are not as reliable as they were 15 years ago. The Mk4 Golf has really bad reliability, the mk5 seems to be better but still not great. Did you know that VW in the USA has almost gone bust, mainly because of VWs poor reputation for reliability? For some reason the european market hasnt picked up on this yet. When I worked at a Nissan dealership, we normally replaced an engine once every 6 months or so and never a gearbox. We normally do 3 or 4 engines & 2 or 3 gearboxes every month at VW! Basically if you dont want any trouble then forget european cars and buy Japanese!

Rubbish. Skodas and seats are EXACTLY the same under the skin as current VWs. Same engines, suspension, brakes, transmission etc etc. Same good points, same bad. For example the new Octavia VRS is a Golf Mk5 GTI, but for a couple of grand less. The Leon Cupra R is a Golf GTI with an Audi S3 engine! They just have different body work and trim and even have better equipment levels! Trust me I work of VW, and if I was spending my own cash on one I would never buy a VW over a Skoda or Seat!

Im no expert but Ive got some experiance with RC airplane nitro engines. Basically the engines are great BUT if they arnt run in correctly (a bit time consuming and tricky) youll have nothing but problems getting them to idle correctly. The problem with cars is that many are Xmas presents for kids who just fuel them up and take them straight out without running them in! Often they will run at full revs but wont idle or alter throttle speed very well. Id try and get one from a older enthusiast rather than a unwanded Xmas gift, if you see what Im getting at!!

When starting up my PC I get a black screen with a grey progress bar along the bottom, before the windows welcome screen. Sometimes it will startup, but it takes ages (5-10 mins), sometimes it does nothing at all. ive tried reinstalling XP but its made no difference. Any ideas?!
