  4. my mk3 capper is getin a bit worn out bien used as a daily driver and rot is really taking over it, also i forgot about a lamppost while i was parking and f*cked the door and wing mechanically its lovely and i spent quite a bit on it, but the shell lets it down! dont think its worth doing. anyone got a mk3 capper shell!? not fussed if it is completely bare. maybe open to other OSF shells so long as itl take a 2.1 pinto and mk3 capper running gear not too fussed on condition as long as its worth tidying up... anyone??
  5. 1993 mk5 escort 1.3 and i King hated it, piece of shite, the a 1995 N reg Fiesta 1.3 EFI, just as shite! fine for the first couple of weeks, throw em round a corner and u need new wishbones and shocks! oh and sont even ask about brake fade!
  6. may i just say, ive been in 1 or 2 skylines, and they r pretty rapid and can be quite nutty, thats gona be insane! i been in a standard skyline GTS single turbo 2.5, and it hit 150 with a fooked coilpack that wudnt let it hit past 4000rpm and i was still pinned in the seat the whole time. thats gona seriously scare someone in a capri! good luck!
  7. and about the getting used to it, i went from nackered 1.6 that got beaten by everything, to a 30k miles 2.1 warm pinto. took it out in the rain and gave it some round a bend, went straight round! shit myself for the first few days but used to it now, ive had it in there a few months now and it gets abused everywhere, not half as powerful as that v8 i know but still
  8. sounds nice mate what sort of mpg do u get out of these rover things? i opted to stay with a pinto because of MPG on a v8 but im doing 150miles to a full tank anyway!! might aswell stick a bigger one in, a mate has got one in his garage his offered me before but i said no.
  9. is there anywhere i can get hold of the same sort of carpet they use for car interiors, i want to redo my interior but with new carpet and not a gammy 21yr old one, i will work out how to do round the gear tunnel lol! i think its called woodpile i saw it somewhere before, i want it black! Edit: Ok i found some carpet on ebay pretty cheap, it says about moulding into shape? is there a method to doing this?
  10. yeh bout an inch of fine thread on the end, gets slightly wider, goes thru crossmember thru a sleve inside inner bush of tca and a nut on the end. and yes i was going some with the hammer u should see the state of whats left of the bolt lol! also need the nut as a mullered it aswell. i will just get a round file in the sleve or something.
  11. i once saw a 2.9i granny ghia bieng bangerd at arena essex, it was some bloke nicknames SKID and it was pissing over everyone, i asked him what was done to it after, it was a 2.9i bottom end, 2.8 mk2 heads on a jetted out weber dgas. i couldnt beleive it, it was going sideways round the bends, and all the way up the straights aswell leaving everyone for dust.
  12. pissed all over a mitsubishi FTO 2.0v6 (180bhp) down the a21 towards hastings. lol it was my best mate but my capper is a 2.1 but pretty much standard other than skimmed and bored out. so round about 120bhp i guess, he pisses over me in a straight line but i left him for shit down the a21 because i know the road and my car, and he doesnt know the road or his car i had all 4 tyres screeching at every oppurtunity. and before long i couldnt see him any more. he was amazed! his car also can go 155mph, 215 50 16's on it standard and is generally a sports car anyway.

I just polybushed both front TCA's on mk3 capper 2.0 laser. the sleves supplied were a VERY tight fit for the bolt to go through, i got one side done ok, other side i hammered away at the bolt and got it stuck in there and then snapped it, got the half of it back out, now all i need is a new nut and bolt, but its got to be the exact right bolt and i cant get one anywhere!!!!! sum1 must have one laying around in there garage surely?

  15. anyone know of anywhere i can get my car tested on a dyno in east sussex? just put a 2.1 in and i dont really know whats been done to it but it seems a hell of a lot quicker than my 2.0 was, just wanted to know

  17. lol thanks but what r turbo vecs and deep slots? i know a fair bit about motors and engines etc but still lot to learn... look at my age dnt think im doin bad i own a capri and hav done quite a bit to it on my own and it still works will be working on a 2.1 as from saturday aswell
  18. i have just found a pic of my capri, 1st time i have put it up on here, only difference to it now is it has been de-bumpered on the front but any ideas welcome nice how photobuckets code just copys straight in there too

I am also painting my engine on saturday, but the engine is complete ready to go in so i need to take a few bits and pieces off (mounts etc) to clean it up a bit first, i am unsure what color/s to paint it though and what paint, plus i was hoping to put the engine in saturday also so a paint that doesnt take days to dry would be nice. anyone got any ideas? also my janspeed 4branch manifold is looking a bit rusty these days, can that be painted? thanks
  20. well judging by the two dents in the gasket on that last photo where the water is meant to pass through i would say that the gaskey was upside down and i would say that was the cause of all your overheating problems easy mistake to make ive done it before
  21. i desperately need a 2.0 pinto by saturday as this is the last weekend free i have for a while and it is my run around car. someone must have one knocking around! pleeease lol thanks
