  1. my missus only has 8 weeks to go. we decided if we have twin boys they gonna be called Mark1 and Mark2 after my escorts!
  2. Cheers Vista. you have pm.
  3. Close but not quite. It has to have been registered or built before 1st Jan 73 the cut off date is therefore Dec 31st 1972. If your car was registered in Sept 73 I'd say there's a 0% chance it was built in 72. A K reg is safe is K runs from Aug 71 to July 72, and an early L reg can scrape in too. Thats a shame. looks like i just dipped out then. i guess new cars didnt sit around in airfields for a year back in the 70`s then.
  4. Over 200bhp of free revving, lightweight reliable power! It was definately a good decision for me.
  5. I have a mk1 escort that was registered in sept 73. How can i tell when it was built?
  6. its a shame there wasnt more interest it looks like its gonna be good. it works out quite cheap as well, a 15 minute session is only £15 if you pre book it or £20 on the day. Also in july theres another BHP show thats ford only. maybe more people would be up for that?
  7. Its May 4 which is a bank holiday monday.
  8. has any one booked any track time for this show? i have just booked 3 sessions and they said there is plenty of classic fords booked in. apparently Old Skool Ford also have a stand there. does any one know if thats true?
  9. Bummer! I was hopin they would come darn sarf in my direction!!
  10. Im gonna have to get me a copy of that!
  11. Isnt the sound track by `Big Country`?
  12. Couldnt agree more! i bought some window rubbers for the escort last year. the guy was very helpfull on the phone and everything came next day as promised. If only all businesses were as easy to use !
  13. Did anybody win those rather tasty Gaz front legs you were giving away a few months ago?
  14. Its not a ford but still some very impressive sidewaysness! http://bridgetogantry.com/index.php?opt ... &Itemid=35
  15. Thanks for the comments. It is a completely home built car so its great to finish it and finally get some use out of it! Its mainly for track days but is on the road as well so hope to do things like the london to brighton this year.
  16. I finally managed to finish my escort a couple of months ago after about 18 months building it and thought you might like to see a few pics.
  17. yeah i stopped at 10mm as it got close to the kink on the arb. i just used washers to space the tca forward.
  18. i did most of it carefully with a grinder and finished it off with a file. as long as you keep the shoulder nice and square and keep the bush diameter as consistent as possible it should all fit fine. will take some pics when im next at the workshop. as i said though im not sure how this compares to a twin cam roll bar.
  19. Does anyone know how much the twin cam anti roll bar moves the tca forwards? I have ground the shoulder back about 10mm on a standard roll bar but not sure how this compares.
  20. Now you say that it makes perfect sense! Thanks.
  21. Hi, when i send a pm it can sometimes sit in my outbox for up to 24 hours. i was just wondering if this is normal as it only seems to happen sometimes?
  22. please dont think im asking cos i dont believe you. as a worried owner myself im interested in how the thieves are making the connection betwwen cars out and about, or worse still on this site, and peoples home addresses. i agree the more info we have the better we will all be to prevent any more going missing.
  23. just out of interest, how do you know it was targeted at brighton speed trials?
  24. now im really not sure who to use! i guess wherever you go people will have good and bad stories. i have bought e few bits from SBD and they seem to be a professional and knowledgable bunch and they recommended Steve at Track and Road as all their cars go there. Once i finished running my motor in i will have to make a decision!
  25. sounds like im spoilt for choice. do HT racing do mapping as well?
