  1. Bought these for the Escort which I've now sold on so it seems a bit pointless keeping them. The part number is 1300GTX, they're in new condition. Only removed the inner package from the box to get a photo so never been fitted (or even removed from the polystyrene packaging!). Looking for £40 posted.
  2. Right, got this sat at my house and between the crap weather and lack of garage it could do with finding a new home. This is very much a project becasue as with most old Fords the bodywork could do with some attention. Quick rundown of the specs are: 1969 1300GT with Mexico decals, going by what's been said the linked thread it's been re-shelled at some point in it's life. Bubble arched. 2ltr Pinto (with fast road cam) on a 5 speed gearbox. Half cage. RS2000 wheels. Capri 2.8i calipers and discs (vented iirc). Bits included with the sale are a Mexico wiring loom, Alloy door cards/furniture, solex locks, new ignition barrel/lock/key, strut brace, chin spoiler, ducktail spoiler quater bumpers. Basically anything that I may have bought for it I'll chuck in. Mileage is unknown but ran fine before I stripped the old dodgy loom out of it but the brakes are in desperate need of bleeding. Bodywork wise it needs both wells in the boot doing, rear inner arches need tidying up, 'A' pillars, bottom of doors and strut tops are just starting to go (easily savable in my opinion) and needs the new 6 clock dash panel fitting to replace the fugly one I removed. Sills seem fine, there's a bit of bubbling/peeling of paint but that's from where they weren't painted correctly after the previous owner had them done. There's absolutely no interior, it was stripped when I got it and the bucket seats and belts have been moved on. Price wise I'm after £3.5k firm, any interest chuck us a pm on here, car's based on the Isle of Man. Few pics here below, more in-depth pics in the link afterwards: More pics: http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=106720
  3. Insurance shouldn't be an issue, we don't have any problems getting insured over here with not having to have a yearly MOT.
  4. Don't know if this is relevant or not, but was posted up on RR: http://www.jasonlepleymotorsport.co.uk/z16.htm
  5. Excellent, cheers for that mate. I'll keep an eye on the how to section in that case then.
  6. Where about would one buy a set of door locks from nowadays chaps? The Mk1 I've bought has no keys for the doors, a busted key in the boot lock and no ignition barrel (wired up to a button). I'd quite like to get the car at least semi secure before I venture anywhere in it, any ideas? Any idea's where I'd sort an ignition barrel from too or is it just a case of keep an eye on the classifieds and ebay?
  7. Nice one, looks like Ade was mistaken then. Cheers for that buddy.
  8. Yes, starts with DOO. Not heard back from Billy yet either.
  9. Cheers mate, PM coming your way....
  10. Does anyone know where I can find a list of Reg numbers for Mk1 Escorts at all? Bought a Mk1 off a mate over the weekend and he mentioned in passing that it's got a Works registration, Google doesn't seem to bring anything up either...
  11. Here's the pic of it being trailered away....
  12. Just spotted this up on my Retards Club page, thought it'd be an idea to stick it up on here: MKI Ford Escort RS2000 Reg: NRR 547M Taken today - 05/10/2010 - From NOTTINGHAM Last seen near the A614/ A46 towards Newark on a tralier being towed, possibly by a silver VW Passat.
  13. Will let you know once the car's on, need a few hands to get the car off the old spit, don't trust moving it myself . Put the spit together last night though and it all goes together sweetly and looks like it's going to work a treat, very impressed with it so far, it's roughly a gazillion times better than the abortion the car's currently perched on.....
  14. I got it off a mate who bought it off ebay 18months or so back..... It's a rickety ol' POS but needs must at the time
  15. I'm the same as most above and do the majority of it myself, if there's something I'm not too sure about one of my big brothers is usually on hand to point me in the right direction.
  16. Yep, that's me. Looking forward to actually being able to walk past the car without having to hold my breath!!
  17. I bought one of them last week, just waiting for it to arrive. I'm petrified to touch the one I've got at the moment, car's already fallen off once Edit: Just to add, he mentions a kit in his listing to make it mobile, any pics of what the kit is as there's no info about it....
  18. I did get a quote to have mine done (albeit the whole car), almost dropped my phone when he said it would be £1200..... I'll give the heat gun a go tomorrow too, see if that helps any.
  19. Cheers for that, I've got a little scraper in my box somewhere so shall root that out and stuck in then!
  20. Anyone here got any tips on how to remove the stuff from hard to get areas. Slowly getting there with cleaning the underside of the Escort off but there's only so much you can get to with a knotted wire wheel. Got to the chassis rail/wheel well area last night and quite frankly it's stumped me on how I was meant to get anything in there....

  22. Sounds like mine too. Very solid and looked after..... Then I uncovered this: All very well hidden under top plates and waxoyl of course.... Apart from that, Johns Mk1 Cortina is the rustiest Ford I've come across, although no pics of that yet.
