Many years ago I bought a Talbot Sunbeam running a Fiat 2.0 Twin cam engine.
It had different wheels front and rear. On the rear it had Compomotive Turbos.
The fronts seem to be Compomotive as well but does anyone know what they are called???
Cheers, looking to sell them and thought a name would help.
it is basically the megasquirt system, lots of people are using it.
I fitted one in a vx calibra turbo for a friend quite straight forward but the software is fiddly apparently. i did not map it though just got it started.
He had a bad experience with mtech themselves waiting over 6 weeks for the ecu and then they had the car for 4 weeks before it died on their rollers!!!!!!! one rebuild later it then got mapped at KTEC racing and works really well 335bhp and 350lb/ft torque!!
I really need to actually look at this car . I got it running and have not lifted the bonnet again yet. Reason i thought it was a carb one was the grey round ford filter on top.
i have a p100 1800 td type 9 in the garage so if you could try and remember which release bearing it would be good. Does it use the standard pinto flywheel/clutch and starter once converted.
Cheers
It is on a J reg. Believe it is a carb model and was putting in the engine to type 9 already fitted.
Did not realise c/l changed, so not really a lot to go in then!!
Are the calipers the same on cosworth ones, just to aid the ebay listing!!
Just pick up a 2litre dohc sierra hatchback. What can i use for my mk5 tina. elec window motors??/ c/l etc, ideas please. Think it has rear discs to will they be any use??
Have you checked the live is at the ecu while cranking. Not just a normal ignition live? Power the ecu direct from battery live as a test. Possible the starter is drawing to much current and shutting ecu down temporarily.
If all goes to p;lan I will be there with 2 cars
My mk5 is going for paint end of next week and then a big refit for the show and my MK2 granada I put a V6 engine in today to replace the badly built v8 that was in it! Just got to wire it up and see what happens for the mot I hope to have them both on show somewhere.!!!
