  1. I have found when my escort was 1600 with 5speed it started every time a wanted to drive it everywhere an anywhere an wouldn't hesitate to but now it's lower (was -2 now around -3 or more) on 175-50's an running Zetec on carbs I try not to take it too far, although drive it daily I can't have more than one passenger. That's why my consul is being built, as a daily (although I feel it will take over for a while) an keep the escort for nice weather. Funny how when it was 1600 I enjoyed it more as it drove calmer and never let me down yet the need for speed an better sound now ruins my hearing and it hates being stuck at one speed. Just couldn't handle being beaten off the lights by crap with idiots laughing (look at that old car) Shocks them now anyways
  2. I'm interested in this
  3. Yes jo lots to do over winter mainly getting the consul done
  4. Oh, was in escort as usual. Only to work an back but wouldn't start this morning as starter wire broke. One easy solution, press it on an cable tie round winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Lol thought I'd try my luck Guess its gonna mean my escort then as the only upgrade my consul will want is mot. That a upgrade? Lol 1. 2l zetec cams (have got but not in) 2. Port n polish head 3. LSD (but can't afford so probably gonna upgrade to mig-diff
  6. Looked in garage an hoping for ok weather this weekend to do some more painting an filling lol
  7. 1. Finish welding 2. Paint 3. Put together I guess they are upgrades lol
  8. Lol I drive mine all year round an it's rotten as hell. Restored it 6 years ago an driven daily an parked outside since, welded floor up twice an a rear arch but this is a but it's cheaper than anything else. The road tax isn't or petrol (depends how you drive anything) but parts are cheaper than modern cars, you can work on it yourself (cheaper) and insurance is cheaper so that's y mines still a daily. Cheap an it puts a smile on my face every day. If I had 2 cars I would have probably had to sell it when I had my lad as couldn't afford both an would never have had enough money for another so that would have been that...... Glad it's my daily.
  9. I have had a slow summer where I should have had my project done but welder problems an family commitments slowed everything down, now getting some enthusiasm back together to have it done over the winter an get the escort off the road for some TLC. Oh an I just couldn't keep away from shows lol they help get you motivated. Get in the projects room an check what other people have been motoring through (some real big work on their osf) an that really helps
  10. Today my sister in law text my Doris asking to look on the Internet for some curtains for her. My Doris went on the website and found the ones she wanted an her reply was 'what size are you after?' Sister in law 'normal size' Doris 'are you serious!?'
  11. Showed Harwin around the project an got a new old style petrol can from the local car boot sale for £2 welded up the pin hole in bottom an got some fresh paint on it ready to hit it with retro signwriting
  12. Cool car, think its that kind of money as it could do with some tidying up with wiring, paintwork and interior an its not a very age related paint? Oh an most important is that it's a 4 door. Nice little motor to jump in an enjoy the last of the show season in
  13. Just check out eBay mate, I picked up a set of 3 for pennies an most of the listings have all the gauges on one once you've clicked on it.
  14. That's cool as jazz, real clean looking Capri. Like the interior
  15. Saying that I love the show, would just like to see a bigger autojumble
  16. The infamous "mortgage burgers" indeed there were
  17. The cash machines didn't need to work as was nothing to buy lol
  18. What end are you trying to change? What are you putting it into?
  19. Hi jazz, any chance of some pics of your car?
  20. Need to go bigger with the type(all the way across and nice bold type like this, don't make it too short tho), clocks will be fine as type should be the focus so make it bigger so it fits across the whole sticker. I'd also do type in white (or really really light grey) so it stands out more as that's the point in the stickers, advertising. Remove the grey stripe above the clocks and move the Retards Club down closer to clocks and bigger too so that goes most of the way across. I'd straighten that slightly (not too much) too, so it flows with the clocks.
  21. What have I done to my osf today....... Used my escort (daily) for work and back An thought about my project...... Then thought some more. Maybe tomo lol
  22. It is a draper 160 bought brand new. Great little welder for what I need but played up so quickly, less than 7 months It has a sticker on saying best to use 16amp plug (guess that's how they get round it) Let's hope this is a one off problem, thanks for the comments guys
  23. Could do with moving it bout 4-5 inch forward
  24. I've had a look mate an for all that work it only moves the stick forward 2inch so not really worth it. Cables sound like a pain so looking at building something very similar to what tvr did with the type 5 box. Gonna make the tail stick quick shift too to help things out Any info or ideas are greatly appreciated
  25. Has anyone else on here built a gear linkage? Any pics? Just for referance
