  7. Did my bit for charity today and gave passenger rides in my Mk2 Escort BDH at a Hillclimb in exchange for a donation to a charity. Did 7 runs and raised £660.00. Here is some footage. Face is priceless.
  8. I got fed up replacing broken Tran x bits, 16t 2 piece shafts twisting then snapping as clean as a whistle, side gears and planet gears smashing to bits with 178bhp and 100ft/lb torque. As Wayne says they shouldn't break. I now use Brand Engineering shafts (took over from Bob Dayson when he passed away) and I use Gripper diffs. So far so good and the guys are really helpful.
  9. Looked like awesome fun!!!
  10. Get a couple of onions, slice then in half and put them in the car, that will get rid of the paint fumes,it neutralises the chemicals in the paint.

  13. Well I thought it was high time I took my little 1300cc Escort away to try some different events so I loaded it up with my tools, wheels etc a took a drive over to Jersey for their May 9th Hillclimb. Good day was had by all and I managed to lower the course record for Mod saloons up to 1400cc by 2.13 secs. (I managed to go 3/4 sec under the previous record on my first ever run up the Hill ) Heres the vid. http://www.youtube.com/user/groupbhero# ... YRhzq6qYYA

  19. 63mm stroke on a long rod configuration to give 1297cc It limits just under 11000rpm, and gives maximum power just under 10k. Thanks for the comments
  20. Cheers Sambo, did you have any luck with your engine?? Regarding your question Tootmon, the 1300 isn't a Crossflow it is a Cosworth BDH and the 1800 Crossflow is on standard stroke (77.6) with an 85.9mm bore. AX block.
