  1. Those pictures were awesome mate, not just for the cars but for the houses, the streets, everything. Do you have any more you'd be willing to post?
  2. Whoooaaa I only come to this board once in a blue moon and the first thread I clicked on was this one (this visit) and nearly soiled myself with the white wee wee. Seriously neat car mate. I love it.
  3. Nice motor. There are very few left now, aren't there?
  4. I love it. Last year, where I work, at a haulage company, there was a mk2 Transit recovery vehicle in the yard for a while. One of the agency drivers owned a mk5 Cortina and parked next to it while he went in the office. It was a fantastic sight which took me back twenty years. It was also a fantastic opportunity for a photo, but, you guessed it, it was probably the ONLY time I'd left my phone on the mantlepiece!
  5. I love the estate with the big ford badge on the side. The setting is nice too. Somehow the street you live on compliments the retro feel. A leafy suburb. Really nice cars.
  6. I was going to say that the thing spoiling it was the auto. I'm a staunch opposer of anything auto. I drive artics for a living and many of them are now auto, but I prefer manuals. I don't know, they're just more raw in my opinion. That'll make it a super raw machine. Good luck with it.
  7. You'd probably get way more for it, I was just putting a round figure on it, a minimum, judging by the pictures and the video on youtube. In the flesh I bet it is impressive as fook and would probaby tempt the right person into paying a five figure sum at least. I know I've said it twice, but I'm going to say it again, its an awesome motor. Its my favorite on here by a long way. Well done on building it mate. I wish I had the time, space and money to build such creations. I'm going to look out for this one at some shows and stuff next year.
  8. Am I right in thinking the Lakeside cruise has replaced the Chelsea Bridge Cruise? I went to the Chelsea Bridge Cruise about 8 years ago, and have since been out of touch with the car scene. But with a renewed interest I want to know what goes on where. After googling "Chelsea Bridge Cruise" I seem to make out that it has been replaced with the Lakeside cruise. When and where is the Lakeside cruise? Thanks.
  9. Well, I'm no expert, and bearing in mind I'm guessing from a buyers perspective, not a sellers, so I'm looking at it from a less involved viewpoint, I'd say at least £7000, but if it were on ebay, I think you could start it at £7000 and it would more than likely rise. Its an awesome motor mate, what a sound!! Are you taking it anywhere? Like any shows or anything? I'd love to see/hear it in the flesh.
  10. Thanks people, thats given me a good idea.
  11. I may have been dreaming, but when I read that article a few years back, when they drove there in a mk2, didn't they say there is a bullethole in the glass from where Alf Roberts got shot? Did Alf Roberts get shot? Somebody got shot.
  12. I'd get around it. I'd simply fit solar panels into the back door of my mk2 Escort estate and run a hydro-electric motor from it. I'm sure I'd squeeze 40mph out of it. Then, I'd load the back up with ICE and play, at a volume which would make plod squirm, a rip-roaring melody of V8 sounds. I can hear the arse-slackening screams of the carbon footprint tits years before they even manifest! When plod pulls me up, accompanied with a representative of the group "A Reasonably Safe Enviroment" (check out that for an acronym!!) I can pop my bonnet to gleefully show him a strange contraption resembling the innards of one of Hotpoints finest tumble dryers. Oh yes, I'll have the ministers and bureaucrats scratching their heads. I'll make them wish they had still left cooking oil untaxed so that we could at least have some form of combustion engine to tinker with. Even after we have resorted to diesel transplants in our cossies we will find a way to make them paranoid. VIVA LA OSF. (And that is the last time the word Viva will appear on this forum, they became extinct years ago for a reason)
  13. How much would a cossie transplant cost? I'm talking about somebody who can source and fit one into a mk2 Escort estate. No elaborate modifications, just a reasonably standard engine which has been rebuilt/reconditione. The turbo model from a sapphire or something. Could anybody give me an approx guesstimate to the nearest thousand?
  14. That does look cool. I particularly like the picture in the petrol station. The one of the back of the car. I like the angle and everything. It sets it off nice. Really nice car mate.
  15. Is there any way to view threads without everybodys signature showing? I prefer reading threads with just the replies. I have gone into my control panel and looked there, but to no avail. Thanks.
