  1. Looked a nice capri BTW you must be up in the Aberdeen area (SRS reg) and that is definately the Crimond Stock Car Circuit paddock in the last pic!!
  2. Took the words out of my mouth
  3. Was wondering if any of you knew where this car is now? DVLA say its SORNed. The mag article further on in the thread below says it was once owned by a Ron "Chopper" Harris...? Its history & possible whereabouts are discussed on another site... http://www.capripower.co.uk/board/index ... topic=9934
  4. Great thread! That yellow X-Pack Capri 24V Cossy - where on earth has that car disappeared to? Used to see it all the time as well. The vehicle details for OOO 819V are: Date of Liability 01 08 2003 Date of First Registration 21 04 1980 Year of Manufacture 1980 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2935CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour YELLOW Vehicle Type Approval null Anyone?
  5. Capri prices are certainly going mad
  6. Looks good that YB
  7. Jap - Toyota Crown. German - BMW 3.0 Saloon E3 Italian - Fiat 130 Brit - Capri of course!!
  8. I really like MK2's. There I've said it!! Here's a pic of my 3.0Ghia. Should really sell it on to someone who'll use it but can't bring myself to do it
  9. Classic!!! Usually the hyper critical people are either jealous (no really!) of your car and feel the need to put yours down or ignorant of the time money etc & of course knowledge needed to make your car what it is Another rant over....
  10. Like Glynn says, there are lots of Fords cooped up in often damp, leaky garages whose owners won't sell and think their car is worth a fortune. A couple of examples from up here are a MK1 Capri Special that still to this day sits in an open ended shed with all the bodywork aft of the back window on the ground "I'll be restoring that one day laddie!" the owner says..... Also 2.8i TT, front end rotten as a pear worth "5 grand all day long" & a really solid 4 speed 2.8i sitting in long grass (for 5 years+) that the owner won't do anything with or sell. Very frustrating. I don't necessarily want to own these cars but it would have been good if they could've been passed on to someone who'll do something with it. Rant over...
  11. It can be frustrating but as has been said before the parts/cars are these people's property. On the many occasions I have knocked on doors, my success rate has been 50/50. Nowadays, I leave my number then call back a month or two later if the car is still there. After that, I move on. These days you can't really offer buttons either, but if I am asked the old chestnut "make me an offer" I take a leaf out of my mate Kev's book and reply "£50"......... Stupid question. A person knows what they want, end of! Rant over......
  12. Not a silly question Wessie. Probably is a sentimental thing but when I was driving around in my ratty 2.0S in 1989/90, a Forest Green 3.0S was the car to have. I used to see this one a lot at the CCI shows & Ford Fairs of the 90s and lusted after it!!!! Maybe some day...
  13. being a capri man, I'd track down the owners of these and cross their palms with lots of silver...... 1. WGO937W always loved it, just waiting for the day it comes up for sale... (Thanks to QuadCapri for the pic) 2. SOO636R - This car should be found & restored!!!! 3. STM5W - Forest Green 3.0Ghia with full X Pack from new.... Or a genuine 3.0 X Pack or Road going Zackspeed Turbo... See, easily pleased!!!!
  14. Crackin pics Kieran Isn't that Tickford gorgeous? Me want!!
  15. Speaking of Metros....(or Romet as I once saw one badged in Banbury!) My first car was a Chuvvit & one night I was driving down past where this bird lived that I fancied like mad. Anyway, she was out front with a couple of her mates, so old Tinky thought he'd try to impress her. Booted said Chuvvit past her place & managed to lose it, ending up planted in the side of a 6 week old Romet (this was 1987!) £125 to repair my car, £1500 to put the Romet right.... Another Romet incident was when I raced this muppet in his ma's Romet Vanden Plas again in the Chuvvit. He was trying to impress his mates in the car & tried to overtake me in the town but I wouldn't let him past. We were rapidly approaching a roundabout, neither letting up on the gas, & proceeded to come together. Mummy's boy hit the traffic island, I just got the hell out of there so didn't see the aftermath.... He did track me down a few weeks later, as a lime green Chuvvit in a small town is hard to hide. Result - Chuvvit 1 Romet 0!
