I did read in the papers that this new government was looking into the introduction of a VIC test, not just heavily modified cars, a simple alteration like modifying the trans tunnel to accept a differant gearbox to standard would put you in Vic territory. Not seen any more in print though, although a Vic test would automatically require the car to carry a Q plate, and therfore remove historic status and non road tax eligability. Finn.

There are a lot of companies offering insurance, some policies are better than others, more suitable to what you want to do with your classic. My 1968 Cortina I drive every day, and is insured as such, my 1986 Capri only runs in Summer, and she is on a laid up policy for the rest of the year. Good article in Practical Classics, take your car to a show and it gets damaged, if you have a "barrier" around your car i.e. a length of rope, your cover is invalid, the liability is your own. Put your car on a club stand? again your own policy is invalid, as the club "should" have its own public liability cover. Finn.

Smashing! Got a bit mixed up as this a lot bigger site than the C.P. one I am used to, I thought we were in the "Capri" section, and we are of course in the "Meets" so apologies to the other Blue oval marques that are comming along, I am in fact getting old and grey. Finn.

As this bit of O.S.F. is dedicated to Capri owners, and as I am a member of C.P. as well (along with a few other O.S.F.ers) I thought it would be an idea to invite any C.P. members along to Swaffam to join in with us. Would anybody that has signed up to be at Swaffam find this a problem? if so please let me know as I will not issue the invitation, Finn.
