  1. Correctamundo. If you're actually planning to do something about this then don't go posting on a public forum about it. Just say nothing, watch and wait and the chance will come. When it does recognise it then act fast and hard. Afterwards, no matter how satisfying it might be, don't tell anyone about it. The only people who need to know will already. That's what cold revenge is and boy does it taste good.
  2. That car looks the business with Alleycats on. Don't change it. Please.
  3. Yeah, funny enough I find myself agreeing with him too. No Mk1's in that family though - they're all Mk2 men.
  4. He's got others that he does drive, he rallies a couple, and some of these in the picture go on the road too but only on dry days.
  5. Yeah, I know how you feel. I had a guy in with me a couple of weeks ago wanting a pay rise ("you know with this recession and all I would need more money"). What a tit. Last week he got a 3 day week instead along with the rest of us.
  6. Reminds me of an old morris marina I had years ago, I hand painted that with 'dulux wet look gloss' were'nt to bad either!: a mate of mine artexed a transit van once cos it was starting to look a bit rough I bet it cracked and fell off after the first pothole!!!!!!!!
  7. Even you can't afford to/don't want to restore it please don't break it no matter what! Do your good deed for the day and save another OSF. How many times have we seen people on this forum lamenting their destruction of OSF's in the past and wishing they had them now. Stick it under a cover in the corner of the garden or even someone elses garden if you have to - do anything except destroy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. This Mercedes was pulled out of a lake after 30 years on the bottom. Looked like a tea bag everywhere. [/img] Looks like he will need a new bottle of gas and a few rolls of wire ordered for that one.
  9. Dynamite is the answer. It will break the ice, kill the fish and land them all at once. It's good sport too especially if you have had a few scoops. Only problem, where to get it?
  10. Just move to Spain. It doesn't freeze much AND the roads are quiet. Policia Nacional are a right bunch though.
  11. If it's working, don't fix it. The auto choke set up is a good job as long as it's working. To start from cold push the loud pedal to the floor once and let it back up before you turn the key. It will knock itself off when the water temperature rises enough (same idea as thermostat). If it stops working properly you will soon know. That's the time to fit a manual (or replace with new auto set up).
  12. How do you plan to solve the clash problem with the steering column? im putting the original one back on vista, to be honest ive been thinkin about it and now im not that bothered about a 4-1 manifold, i only bought that one cos it was cheap. im not sure anyone makes them to fit directly onto a mk1 capri without a lot of pissing about. If you can weld then it's not too hard to make your own. The butchered one you have can still be used and if you get your hands on a few old exhausts that have been taken off other cars (for the bends). Then paint it with heat resistant paint or if you're not happy with your welding, lag it. The engine bay looks A1 with the work you have done to it and it would be a crying shame to put that hacked about pipework into it even if it did fit.
  13. Might get oil starvation problems if you do that.
  14. Take my advice - don't have them about your place, if they call on any pretext just get rid ASAP and don't get into any discussion. Don't buy anything off them either especially OSF's as some poor bastard has been without his pride and joy for all you know. If there were no buyers there would be no thieves - let them keep the Mk1 Transits. RANT FINISHED NOW.
  15. I think I know who that was, I will see him over Christmas to check and introduce him to the hall of fame for that one!!!!!! Updates when available.
  16. Speaking of italian cars, anyone remember the Fiat 132 Mirafiori 2000TC? I used to have one that I used as a stock car and it was the fastest and best handling thing I have driven. Mind you, it rusted so quick you could almost HEAR it!
  17. If the temperature is only rising slowly and steadily after 30 mins in traffic, I reckon you don't have a problem with heating. Why not leave the fixed fan and fit a smaller electric fan on the front of the rad operated by switch inside the car. That way you can turn it on and off as you need to get cooling in traffic without major modifications to the original car? Otherwise fit a bigger fan to the existing boss if there is space or one with more than 2 blades if you can get (or make) it?
  18. Thanks for the welcomes, I'm still trying to find my way round the site so if I disappear for a while you'll know I'm just lost!
