Wow big debate going on just read it while drinking my tea so the only thing i will say and i may get shot for it but my friend has i 1993 mk3 vauxhall astra now he has had it roughly 3 years and he has no idea about cars so when the head gasket went he could not get to work in it as it was missing and pressuring up very bad he asked me how much and as a rough guess i said about 200 to fix it and he has not got the money to fix it so what can you buy for that price as everyone seems to ask too much for what they are selling so from his point of view i can see the sense in getting his off the road and getting something new with free servicing thrown in and a warranty. But thats where most people on here are handy on the tools and could easily fix there cars if they went wrong thats why my everyday car is a 14 year old golf but its cheap to maintain thanks to the scrap yard so im sort of on the fence here dont shoot me down just yet thats just my opinion thats all.

Yes defo a good idea mate being a qualified mechanic as well i do jobs on the side as there are alot of people out there that wouldnt even no how to check tyres or oil level went out to someone a few weeks ago as they thought there tyres were low so went to check them they were totally bold so had to replace there tyres and sort out the tracking as the wear indicated the car was towing out so yes there is a market out there for people such as yourself good luck if you decide to go ahead.
