Wasnt that built for real? I seem to remember seeing a Corsair with a Classic Capri roof grafted on in a magazine some time back. It was in an unfinished condition and I,m sure it was owned by a Corsair club member.
My daily driver is a mk4 1.4 4 door. I am the second owner and the car is in good condition. Its not a bad car but it is gutless. Pretty sure I would never restore one though.
I have a 1800 pinto, I,ve read in different mags that it,s not worth bothering with. I can see that the porting on the head is different but other than that what differences are there and why is it ignored as a tuning option?
Theres a few big old houses around where I live. Been in most of them. One had ww2 gas mask boxes in the attic rooms. It,s quite sad to see them in a derilict state
On the way home from a sprint today was surprised to see a mk1 transit camper on a J plate. It was a dark maroon on the bottom and I think a different shade on top. Also there was a XE engined Anglia at the sprint.
Just did the Broadspeed stripes on the Anglia today. Looks realy good , now I just need to finish polishing the alloys although Im starting to think about putting the Dunlop alloys on instead of the Compomotives.
I had a 2 door mk1 escort I bought from a local breaker for 45 quid with 2 months mot . It was an 1100 and I put white Mexico stripes on it with aerosol cans. Sold it for 25 quid . WTF What was I thinking, I wish I still had that car now not so much because of what there worth now but because it ended up as a field car and was burned out in the end.
looking at the cover of the latest classic ford mag reminded me of an rs3100 capri I saw years ogo . It was the same colour as the one on the mag. There was an old quarry near me that was used as a car dump and I remember seeing this old capri with the gold stripes on it . There was no engine or wheels but the interior was all there. I didnt find out till years later what it was but if I had known then I would have taken it away. There was also a new unused mk5 cortine shell with a rusted out rear parcel shelf amongst the heaps of old cars.
Cortina stopped dead the other day so I finally decided to take pick up pipe out to check and sure enough it was totally blocked. Also found out that the fuel gauge doesnt work, it was showing nearly empty but a gallon came out when I took the pick up out . Luckily I had a petrol can under it . I got a small filter for it so I should get it back together at weekend . Hopefully this will be the end of this problem.
My Cortina has a pinto in it but I used an RS2000 system. I lenghened the system in 3 places. 3 inches on the crossover pipe , 2 inches just before the center box and 3 inches at the tailpipe. The exhaust fitted the car perfectly. This may mean the x/flow system will fit with nothing more than adding in extra lengh in certain places. Hope this helps
Finally got round to putting startermotor back on Cortina, got it running and took it for first drive of year. Felt good to be driving her again. There are a couple of things needing sorted out, slight vibration at about 50 mph and need to put filter on the fuel pick up in tank. When I sorted the tank I used tank sealer and I think it is coming of and blocking the pick up. It has caused the car to stop a couple of times so I will fix this soon. Looking forward to putting some miles on it.
Well, thats the waterpump and core plugs done, started at 12 o clock engine out and back in running at 3.30 . Got the paint stripped of the alloys , next job is to paint bottom of doors and get the Broadspeed stripes done. Nearly there.
