  1. hmmmmmmm, i think this is a good time to find out what people on here think about plastic not fantastic (you know my views on it, every year after classic ford and ford fair i fall out with people on here) I had a mk3 escort, 1982 xr model.................not allowed on here now i have a mk2 transit camper, 1984 but classed as old skool how can that be if its newer than a mk3 escort. at the end of the day, its what i want to drive that counts, never been a sheep and never will be. Had more fords from pops to cortinas, mk5 escorts to sierras than a lot of folk on here but still look at most fords at the shows (if i like them i look, if not i walk past)
  2. am i on the right site here im all for a mix bag of fords at shows etc but never thought i would see it supported on here time to polish the wifes cougar ready for the next one best place for the crapi is a car park out of the way cwis
  3. Which means the show was profitable ... hence there will be one next year. The thing is ..you cant exclude clubs, like the RSOC .. they are invited, so their members go, and those members are proud of their cars, be that an Rs1600 or a RS Focus ..... THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE You wont see the Mondeo and Focus owners moaning about a load of OSF's at a newer ford show like Ford Fair, you'll get them drooling and patting you on the back for having a great car, normally with words of ... "I'd love to have one of those " Not "why dont you f**k off to the CF show " So, come on, calm down, at the end of the day, we all like Fords, and we should all like each other, to me, this argument is like the 4dr/2dr debate. At last, someone with a bit of common sense. Im one of them who has a MK5 XRIIIi and have had MK3 XRIII’s and 16i’s but I also had MK2 & MK4 Cortina’s , MK1 & 3 Capri’s and a Pop. When I go to a show I love to look at the oldskool stuff as im into them big style, but I also like to look at the Cosworths and S1 turbos, RS16i as well as the XR range. No im not going to waste my time looking at something that has just drove through the sticky on dept of halfords but to some of them young lads theirs is the best car in the world. Im here for Fords, up to around 93, after that it has to be something special to catch my eye but i would not have a go at the owner, i just would not look.
  4. so i take it oldskoolford wont be at ford fair result there are loads of clubs with mk1/2 escorts, cortina's, anglia's, consul's etc that will be there, just not narrow minded like some of you i dont dislike the stuff you like, just im more open minded about the fords i like to see kept on the road.
  5. oh, very funny, not. so i try to make a valid post and it wont accept XRIII or mk3 XR escort, 3 door cossie it says XRwee, or not in here mate, well i would rather eat my own shit than be your mate plastic not fantastic, unless its holding my oldskool ford together or making it quick. pity you all dont have some balls and speak out instead of being puppets to a few, at the end of the day its about keeping fords on the road (and i dont mean the the stuff you can buy parts from over the counter)
  6. you had a smiley face transit as your centre piece this year, whats all that about i cant see what the problem is with 3 door cossies, you seem to like the engine enough. my MK3 escort Xr had metal bumpers and was older than a 1985 capri but its not a classic Ford Fair is the best show as it covers all fords not just oldskool (dont get me wrong, i love mk1/2 escorts, anglias and cortina's, had a few too) but im a ford fan, and RS cossies, S1 Turbos and early XR's are just as rare as your oldskool fords start your own show, but take away all the sierras, mk3 onward escorts inc S1 & S2, mk2 onward fiestas (how the mk1 is oldskool i dont know) RS focus and ST's, P100 sierras and all the cossies and XR's and it wont be a big show note, jellymolds and xrwee are what this site changes it too
  7. what a load of crap, you cant say capri's were in production before 1980, yet a 87 one is old school. but a 1982 escort is not old school come on, im not calling anyones car as i like 60's,70's,80's, and some 90's fords but its either built before 1980 or not. i know i sound like im havin a go, but im not. i have a mk4 cortina (1978 so it just makes it in) and a S2 RS Turbo but im into my fords and like most of them up to mid 90's. bugger, this IS going to run and run, but it looks like im the only one sticking up for the future classic fords
  8. like i say, everyone has there own opinion just another quick question, what makes a mk1 fiesta old skool and not a mk3 escort both same era, both front wheel drive and both have racing pedigree oh and i do like a nice mk1 fiesta so not having a dig at anyone.
  9. dont want it to run and run, everyone has a opinion and that was mine. not aimed at anyone on here and the bog/filler was a play on words with the plastic not fantastic. i like cossies and rs escorts (mk3/4) and the old stuff, not everyone does
  10. seconded what does that mean. im just putting the point over that the pink S2 is not gay, but a well set up RS Turbo that belongs to a female driver. i go on many ford sites and the pics of ford fair have been a good mix of old skool and RS turbo and cossies. i know this is old skool site but does a nice 3 door cossie or RS1600i or S1 not deserve a look
  11. at least the pink S2 DOES have a ford engine under the bonnet oh, and it aint slow either its running well over 200 bhp. the owner is female thats why its pink. now this plastic not fantastic, does this not include bog or filler coz there was plenty of old skool full of the stuff when i go to shows i like to see a good variety of ford, old skool and 80/90s fords. we aint all wearing mk1/2 escort blinkers
  12. cheers for the comments, got the spoiler of a mate, not easy to come by now just want the 2.8 dropin in then when i get the pennies together a re spray
  13. cheers darren, i think it suits the dark colour im looking at masking the indicators and painting the top and bottom black to match the lamps and grill. not sure though
  14. off work and the weather was good today (no garage) i wish i had it done for yesterday
  15. just waiting on the 2.8 rebuild and new front springs (-1")
  16. was a good day and we all enjoyed it from the manchester classic ford club (just to clear it up, the RS2000 was not from our club). anyway some pics and cheers to ken for sorting the day out oh and how my mk4 looks like now, just did not have time to do it before sunday
