  3. Here in Sweden the volvo 1031 axles are quite common among old escorts within rallying and big powered road cars. They are cheaper, almost half the cost to build than that of a atlas. And they seem to hold up to some serious abuse, my impression is that they are equally as strong as the atlas. For me it's got to be Ford all the way, just bought a great condition Atlas axle out of a Capri mk3 2.0 after years of searching. The atlas is very rare here too. /David Skickat från min Nexus 7 via Tapatalk
  4. I powdercoated the intake manifold and water expansiontank on the impreza sti v.5 i had before. Unfortunately i fitted the expansiontank to the manifold with stainless screws and washers. Since stainless soaks up heat from the manifold well the screws melted the paint around the screwheads and it soon started to flake off. So i would not fit stainless screws again on a powdercoated part thats going to see some heat. A side note, my manifold was white and the painter had to put a basecoat of grey first. Otherwise the white powdercoat would turn yellow after a while after the heat exposure... Skickat från min FRD-L09 via Tapatalk

  6. May i just take this oppurtunity to ask a question om this topic. I've just bought a mint rs2000 dash to fit in my 1300l basemodel, and when you just mentioned the fragile nature of the backing circuit a light went on in my head as i through the process of eventually finding this good set stumbled across a few that had broken backing circuits. Could you please give me some more information about this modification? The process and parts needed for it? I did not know about this before. I'm ofcourse very keen on keeping this rs dash in good condition for years to come. / David
  7. The studs were welded to the boot floor by the factory.
  8. That would be very interesting look closer at, i just thought that there were only one type. Would gladly see some photos if you have the time to dig them up!
  9. Appreciate that
  10. I remember reading about this many years ago, but i am not looking for 100% period correct. It is a old rallycar thats getting back into shape after not being used for over 35 years. /David
  11. May i ask where you bought it from? I have a mk1 rs2000 and missing this part. /David
  12. Do Roy have a website? Or other means of contact? /David
