Brief update, in the end I grew a pair and re-shaped (hand-bent) the brake lines running over the servo tower. Looks ok, hopefully will still stop ok, doesn't look like I've creased anything. Hope those silicone hoses are ok for vacuum. Anybody care to advise please? While I'm typing, and because I've got the Bestek installed but not starting, what have you all done to get round the 'pink resistor wire' ? I'm thinking to take a lead from the fusebox (no's 6 and 7 liven with ignition) over to the Bestek coil +-ive terminal. I've tried with the original coil terminals onto the Bestek coil but no luck so I'm assuming my problem is that little pink wire..... Nearly there for a drive in the sun. It's only been about 5 years 😬

Can't beat a proper screamer nutter bastard....... But back to the op:- I put 40's on a 'long' manifold for better low-end torque, and the trumpets hit the 2 brakelines running over the servo tower (I even dropped the tower 30mm or so by drilling the inner wing stiffener but it didn't help enough). Now got to find cheapo trumpets, rejig the brakelines, or mess about swapping a manifold (and they ain't cheap)

So, cages should be ok, thanks all for the great clarifications people. Not putting one in my 4-door tbf, probably slow it down too much (but hopefully my tarty dresses in the boot won't affect speed too much.....)😉😉
