105Nick Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 Spam roll & pickle - just had three Did anyone see James May on a programme a while back it had me rotf? One of them poncey chefs who tour europe doing cooking programmes on cusine, not sure couuld have been Rick Stien? He took James May from Top Gear on a tour of the France by narrowboat along the canals, stopping off here and there and doing farty recipies while trying to teach James about the theories behind successful proffessional food, wine and all that, May couldnt give a toss. Anyway, they stopped at a vineyard and their host was this stunning french bird and the bloke invited her to go to dinner as a thanks, turned out it was James' challenge to cook a meal with perfectly matched wine using what he'd been taught, came back with the bird all dolled up expecting to go to a flash resteraunt & there's James sat on a campfire in the vineyard, boiling up diced spam and baked beans Gave them the wine too and started reciting all the poncey food talk about the wine enhancing the flavour of the spam The bird looked confused and asked "what is a spam?"to which he replied "Spam is a high quality english meat product" and then convinced her that the english eat it for breakfast, dinner and lunch.
