Nettles Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 Started stripping down my Capri rear axle getting it ready for a mock fit to my chassis and noticed this stub/grease-nipple/valve thingy and I don’t know what the fook it is. Can’t find any info from my manual about it and it’s not shown in any of the diagrams. Does anyone know what this is?
capriluke Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 think its a breather of sum sort?! may be wrong though?
Nettles Posted April 14, 2007 Author Report Posted April 14, 2007 Yeah it could be. The cap is spring loaded and it has a rubber seal.
john_3.0s Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 what pip said..... turn your axle upside down and the oild will come out! If you didnt have it when the oil got warm it would pressurise the case and maybe force the seals and cover gaskit to leak. If your going to paint it make sure that you dont block it up by mistake!
Nettles Posted April 14, 2007 Author Report Posted April 14, 2007 Thanks everyone thatz helped. I think I will leave it where it is.
