....change my bonnet colour to matt black. its quite rusty under the front lip and I'm thinking of getting a fibreglass one to replace it and having it black with 3 dzus fasteners up each side to hold it down....but I'm un-decided

Mate,

I love a black bonnet but I think gloss or at least semi-gloss is the way to go. Matt always looks like an unpainted replacement panel and Matt paint is hard to keep clean and cannot be polished otherwise it looks patchy.

Anyway...

I have seen piccies of a red capri with a black bonnet and IMO it looked good, but seeing it on mine, I'm not keen and I can't figure out why!!!

yer mattblack is very hard to clean and shows the dirt realy well get it done satin black like a simi gloss colour

Ken, but I need a new bonnet as everytime I lift it I get a shower of rust all over me bonce, and its starting to show through. The drivers wing is quite bad as well now so maybe later in the year I'll get them both done, funny thing is there's no rust anywhere else
