how to wire in new 'things'

my loom was for the old washer jet foot pump which has obviously been binned.

 

iv now finished my wiring and want to add a small circuit for a switch and water pump for the washer jets

 

i know im gonna have to run a wire from a live and put it back to a negative

 

any suggestions on which wires to use as i dont want to bake any of the wiring,

 

also should i wire a small fuse link in the circuit just in case it should need it

Run a wire off a spare way on the outlet of the fuse box, up to the motor, then from the other terminal on the motor go in to a switch on the dash, then from the switch to earth.

 

You can modify an old wiper switch so that it becomes push and release for use as a wash button, it keeps it looking right and fits into the holes in the dash. You need to strip the switch down and alter the click to lock mechanism of the switch.

What extras have you already got on your fuse box then? Have you a 7 way fuse box or the older 6 way one?

The circuit for that is more than man enough for the washer bottle

just a thought

 

iv done away with the fag lighter so i have a spare connection that the light plugged into.

 

this earthed through the metalwork of the dash.

 

would it be safe to use that dya reckon?>

Here's a shot of mine, the green and yellow wire comes off the bottom connection on the fuse box, runs to the pump, the other pump terminal goes through same hole is the oil pressure pipe then up to the dash to a switch that is connected to earth
