trakevlyn Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 Took the yellow peril to work today all was fine until i picked up my daughter and friends from a school disco as i was driving them back home the brakes went all spongey. Pedals firm to start with but if you keep your foot down the fades but not completely to the floor and on checking half the fluid has gone from the resevoir. three guesses what im doing tomorrow.
Jay_harrier Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 , master cylinder seals? rear wheel cylinders? - whats your money on?
Nettles Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 D'oh well at least you've got all weekend to fix it
trakevlyn Posted April 27, 2007 Author Report Posted April 27, 2007 Im thinking master cylinder but hoping wheel cylinder, but only did seals in master cylinder a year or so ago.

If it's the master cylinder there should be fluid inside the car somewhere but at least you won't have to fight with a servo. I had a Dolly Sprint that consumed 2 litres of brake fluid in 2 weeks, the pedal was fine but couldn't find where it was going - until the servo was so full and the fluid got sucked down a vaccum pipe into the inlet manifold!, B*astard car, got my 1st OSF after that. Hopefully its a wheel cylinder & no hassle, fingers crossed
trakevlyn Posted April 27, 2007 Author Report Posted April 27, 2007 Well ill let you know whats wrong tomorrow after a few hours of knuckle scraping and swearing. If its the master cylinder anyone know where i can get a new one and roughly how much, cheers.
