Blacksaff Posted May 13, 2007 Report Posted May 13, 2007 Well I joined here a while ago and managed to cause a little controversy when I posted a pic of my Sierra Cosworth. Anyway I've finally bought myself an OldSkool ford heres my Cortina Apologies for the pictures being poor quality I'll get some better ones up when I've tidied it up, Anyway I would love some advice from fella Cortina owners as i'm after lowering it slightly and getting some 15"x8 miniltes, can anyone recommend the best place to get these? Well I hope I qualify as a proper 'OldSkoolFord' owner now and i'm looking forward to my time here.
jay Posted May 13, 2007 Report Posted May 13, 2007 looks sweet mate.... defo slam it, an put some nice wheels on it..
Ade B Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 I like that! Always fancied one myself... (and always fancied a Saph Cos' too! ) Bung the YB in the Tina!
Gareth Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 M8, try Burton's or Rally Design for the springs Oh yeah, Nice 'Tina
bortaf Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 Burtons do - 2 inch personly i wouldn't go any lower if it's a daily driver cos all the camber angles get cocked up (castor is adjustable and can be reset) use a sierra offset wheel, 7 X 15 cossie wheels fit fine not sure if 8's will though with out using P100 front wings (bigger arches)
Blacksaff Posted May 14, 2007 Author Report Posted May 14, 2007 Cheers people, I wasn't gonna go too low as it is a daily driver, I like the sound of 2 inch! As for wheels basically same as sierra then? I have my heart set on something like Minilites or Slotmags or Revo's as I don't personally like the modern wheels on older cars. Also what would I be able to transplant interior wise? Would Capri Recaro's fit? Cossie Steering wheel? etc..... Cheers
bortaf Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 Any recaros will fit with the adapters as the GLS had recoeros fitted as standard 81 on Mk2 escort ST/wheels fit but stick out more, thats it for ford ST/wheels really unless you modify the boss or go aftermarket Cruisader ints are a fair match for capri shark grey recaros cortinas use the same offset as sierra (narower than capri or escort) so what fits a sierra usually fits a cortina it's just the front arches that can foul if you use capri offset or real wide wheels
oldskool4me Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 well done mate deffo lower in an a new set of wheels
