ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 i think to place an ad you should be a paid up member as we do get people who loin up and just use the site to sell stuff without going into other rooms and being part of the scene What does everyone else think? Is that fair?

Is that fair? yes m8 that would be fine It may limit the amount of ads that get placed but the ones that do get placed will be bought by members, giving the members a little extra. Just like when you subscribe to a mag, the subscribers normally get the mag a few days before they are released in the shops, giving people who sub scribe that little extra time to browse the classifieds

4parajon Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 Here's what I think and I'm sure it wont appeal to everyone but IMO everyone who uses this site should pay the £12 (although I think the family membership is a good idea) I appreciate that not everyone can afford it but if you turn on the telly, you have to pay a license fee, this site costs a lot of money and probably more in peoples time and effort that we as user's of the site never even see. The other side to this if everyone pays it would stop a lot of the people we have had coming on the site over the last 5months or so trying to stir things up with the "my car is faster than yours". It could put good people off but maybe you could have a 2 week free trial, and limit there access??? Like I say just my opinion, I'll be paying regardless

Like I say just my opinion, I'll be paying regardless i used to use a Jap performance site that let you join. once you posted 10 posts (IIRC) you had to pay to carry on posting. had the option of paying for a month, or for a year. was a lot more than £12 (may have been £30) but you got a lot of merchandise included in the deal maybe you could have a pay per month option - say £2 per month....?
Burns Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 dunno about you lot, but i don't think osf chat should be subscribed, it'd put new members right off if they couldn't get in there u had to become a member b4 u saw what was going on in there didnt u!? posse has a young family it shouldnt be down to him to keep the site going on his own. a lot of people make money off the back off this site so its only fair we make a small donation each year. i'll be paying the £12 whatever, don't get me wrong, i know it costs a lot, that was why i was thinking about encouraging new members to join, i dunno if i'd have got into this site in the first place if i had to pay for osf chat. is there anything that you can change to make paid members stand out from non-paid members? like that green name thingy for example?
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 Id like a special name Is that because you're special needs?
Admin Mk2Jo Posted May 18, 2007 Admin Report Posted May 18, 2007 Can we change names of contributors to green or something?
Admin Mk2Jo Posted May 18, 2007 Admin Report Posted May 18, 2007 Id like a special name Is that because you're special needs? And so it is done

Free trial - Yes, I can set that up. Pay monthly - Yes. Say £2. Pay weekly - Yes. Say 60p Pay daily - Yes. Say 10p So, yearly subs is £12 Monthly subs totals £24 Weekly subs totals £31.20 Daily subs totals £36.50
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 Can we change names of contributors to green or something? I'm looking at it today. It's green when you click the 'usergroups' at the top. I thought Special Needs because it's a Placebo song I've just been listening to...
Slik 50 Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 I have a special name now Jon, But thanks for the Ideas Oh and thanks Jo, I think
Pipster007 Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 I don't know if the software the site uses could support the idea I had. If it's possible, could all non-contributors only read the first ten current posts of each free forum. If they click on a post not in the top ten, then they will be diverted to a sign up page. If however they have made their own post and it drops outside the top ten, they should only be able to view the post and not be able to make any replies, until someone else makes a reply and puts the post back into the top ten. Perhaps even limiting them to pm'ing only admin and mods, thereby keeping the privacy of paid-up contributors to a minimum Secondly, if people are interested in wanting "trinkets" then make it a first one off payment of £25 they have full access to the site, a large windscreen sticker, keyring and taxdisc holder including postage then £12 a year thereafter. I for one will pay whatever the needs of the site requires, seeing as £12 equates to a 1/4 of a tank of fuel for the Capri
