Gilli Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 Got a 500mm x 250mm sheet of heat shield but its not on an adhesive backing. Any ideas on how to stick it to the inside of the tunnel/bulkhead?? I don't really want it rivett it in place and i only have about 1cm clearance so something is needed! Was told not to use heat wrap for the manifold as it mite crack and they're hard to find (Fiat twin cam engine). Cheers folks
V8ian Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 Silicon mastic, will hold it in place, I usesd silicon as a sealant for the exhaust flanges, so it is not too affected by heat, How you hold it up there while it dries is another matter

Slik 50 Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 You can buy silicone that is more resistant to temp I think its called RTV that may work a little better
Rick Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 high temp spray tack by bodyline (get it at brown brothers) strong as fook
