X-pack-Glyn Posted May 27, 2007 Report Posted May 27, 2007 in about 8 hours with the help of my good mate Escort 21 ive pulled a manky looking (but very sweet running) 1600 out of a capri and fitted a nice cammed up, detailed 2 litre in its hole, looks a treat. me and tim got it all together, head on, valve clearences sorted, complete rebuild of the two litre,ancileries, rad, this that and all the rest, blindin, lets fire it up.... wont go, ok, nothing new, i get spark, no problem, fuel issue then... no fuel...hmmm, i check the fuel pump got the rod in of the cam, yep, no problem WTF, scratch head, check some more, carb appart, air filter off, ok...grrrr .... well, before escort 21 gets in here to mock me il admit id gone and fitted the mechanical fuel pump upside down!!!
jay Posted May 27, 2007 Report Posted May 27, 2007 hahahaha.... i done something similer,well almost... when i built the engine in my car, i accidently forgot to put the spacer/washer thingy between fuel pump and block..... .. smashed the pump up... ... took me hours to figure it out....
