Here goes.... thefatcapri's design class

 

Step 1.

Create a new canvas the finished size of the signature. Fill with a solid green background.

 

Step 2.

Create a new layer above it and using a soft edge brush, draw a series a black lines while holding down the shift key to constrain it (to keep the lines straight). Now select an area at the top of the canvas, feather the selection and fill with black. Blur the entire black layer with gaussian blur, followed by motion blur.

 

Step 3.

Cut out the three car images using a clipping path (pen tool) and drop them on their own layers above the black layer.

 

Step 4.

Draw the shadow areas using a lassoo, feather the selection, create a layer below the car images and fill with black. Change the blending method to multiply and reduce the opacity to 40%.

 

Step 5.

Type OLDSKOOLFORD in white, make a selection from the type, expand it, create a layer below the type and fill with black for the outline. Now feather the selection, create another layer below the outline and fill that with black (for the shadow). Bring the opacity of that layer down to 40% and using the free transform tool, distort the shadow so it appears that the light is falling from the above left.

 

Step 6.

Type Hunter T in white.

Flatten the whole thing off and save as a jpg.

Step 1 looks tricky and then it all goes out of hand!!

 

I always think a big black area at the bottom of a post looks neat!
