kevmk2 Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 According to the met office,we maybe in for some heavy showers http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ ... ather.html
martymk1 Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Weathers looking crap for sunday,if its raining then none of us are going. Dont see the point in standing in the rain all day Yeah dito think about five of us are guna bail to, crap weather! See im not the only one i'm also thinking of doing that
kevmk2 Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Not being funny but theres nothing worse than standing by the sea in the pouring rain and the wind blowing especially when you can stay in a nice warm bed with the mrs its my only day off work too lol
martymk1 Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 the only reason i'm thinking or doing it, because my mk5 is sick, so that only leaves my mk1, its needs work to be done to the bodywork, so sitting in the rain for a day won't do it very good, if the weather forecast is wrong & its not raining i'll definitly be at the ace to join you
kevmk2 Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Me too,but not going to the ace, thats another trek out of the way for us. I can just about afford the petrol to go on sunday.
thefatcapri Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 According to the met office,we maybe in for some heavy showers http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ ... ather.html Their forecast now shows that it's only going to be raining at 3 in the morning and after 6 in the evening. Rest of the day says sunny intervals But then what do the met office know about the weather - they seem to work on an elaborate system of guesswork!

Capripete Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 I'm waiting for the rain to stop so i can go out and wash mine! Gonna be doing it in the rain at this rate!!
over_head_cam Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Personally, if it's raining frogs and arrowheads on Sunday, I'm still going
Capripete Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 I'm not too sure, frogs make a right mess on the windscreen....

lotusless Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 fair play to all the true old skoolers making long journeys despite bad weather (or not) everyone's in the same boat (excuse the pun) the organising for this has taken bloody ages + a lot of hard work + they are not being paid to do it.. surely we can put up with a bit of POSSIBLE bad weather for one day!!! this is the first year of this event + it would be bad if only 50 cars turn up. i know staying in bed might be nice but this is a good way of getting some good publicity for the site, extra advertising + more members which can only be good. the crappy mini's still turn up at brighton no matter what the weather, i know some of you are running big power which is no fun in the wet but if it's just moaning about a bit of rain thats different. we are going in a consul capri + if anyone has ever driven one of them in the rain they will know that the wipers dont work very well! but has it put us off NO. come on lets all stick together for one day + show them all.. thank you to all the organisers of this event.
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Well, if it is raining........................ I'm still going. Been looking forward to this since it was planned... nothing will make me miss tomorrow... not even the pain in the arse Anglia. If sh*t happens, I will take the Capri. I WILL BE THERE
steve mk2 Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 i love the rain!! it hides my rust bubbles
RUSTYPUP Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Can't really see what the problem is with the rain. I've been using my truck in the crap weather cos I killed the Cortina. It has no demist. 1 vacuum wiper. About 350bhp and next to no weight over the big bald rear tyres. Just leave plenty of room around you and go slowly sideways
steve mk2 Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 very true!! if i look out the widow and its pissing with rain the first thing i do is go have a play in the pissing rain practising my steering with the rear i love driving in the wet its awsome. rain or shine we will be at the ace at 7 - 7-30 am
