Who else is running quick ford engines e.g pushrods, pintos, cossie's etc?

I run quite a quick Harris pushrod in my escort, there are quicker ones like my cousins light blue mk2 running 13.2 down the strip. Then theres the quick pintos with my uncle andys red mk1 running a best time of 11.5 plus jayson elvys pagent blue esc also in the 11's. My grandads is in the low 12's as is a number of other pinto'd fords on this site. The are a couple of cossied esc's also running 10 second quarters. Hope ive educated you with this post.:beer:

It's also about what diff and gearbox you have too isn't it and whether your car is loaded with all the original fitments or stripped out :D There are a lot of factors I think - it can be very confusing :?

Im doing 10.5 quarter's @133mph and 6 second 1/8th mile time @ 106mph

with no NOS and no trick rear suspension, just a rally re-design 4 link kit

Lets try and think of any quick 4 cylinder non-turbo charged motors that are not stripped out to foooooook ( so steel panels , complete exhausts , carpets , glass windows , heaters , wiring , wiper motors etc ) that can still run quick times on street tyres ( don't bother with the nitrious ones though as they're cheating !!!!!!! ) . Tony Simpson mk1 escort 185 bhp Harris pinto 13.8 secs @ 98 mph , There's a modena green mk1 escort rs2000 with C.T.M. stickers on the cam cover that runs 13.8 on street rubber but i can't think of anymore quick ones on street tyres running with all the bits still fitted  . There's some fast stripped out ones i've seen on street rubber though , Bob wiggins mk1 escort 2.2 Harris pinto 12.6 secs , Tango mk2 escort rs2000 W.P.E. atmo cossie 13.0 secs , Dave College mk2 escort 2.3 mountune duratec 13.0 secs , Darran Moss mk2 escort H.T. 2.2 pinto 13.1 secs , Matt Dowler mk2 escort atmo cossie 13.1 secs , I'm pretty sure Wayne Wiggers atmo cossie Anglia ran down in the 12's on street rubber in the ultimate street car final back in the 1990's but i might be wrong . I think Kev Jenkins mk1 escort xe powered car runs 12.8 secs without slicks + gas as well . Who knows any more then as i'm interested even if nobody else is !!!!!!!

I'm sure bob wiggins is the fastest on treads i've ever seen  but i've never seen ron harris , andy harris , jayson elvy etc etc run on street rubber though as these cars might be quicker . I sure that ron harris jnr ran a low 13 on street rubber with all the interior etc still fitted on his tasty red mk1 escort sport a few years back . I think it may well have had a pushrod in it back then as well !!!!!!!!:shock::shock:

Obviously you can see that im new to the site because the post count to the left and i have only been to one osf meet but i was wondering what sought power you lot were getting out of these old fords? I have seen Andy Harris's pinto powered mk1 go and was shocked at how quick it actually was, what bhp is that? Who else is running quick ford engines e.g pushrods, pintos, cossie's etc?

What sought of power you putting out in your mk2 mate, also what engine?

Best i have done is a 13.1 on shitty avon 6" slicks.

On street tyres 175/50s best was a 13,3.

Thats with steel panels/full glass windows/exshaust etc.

I'll try some hoosiers 7" and see if a high 12 is on the cards!!

Dont really want to strip me mk2 out anymore,so maybe a acid dipped lightweight mk1 for next year :ykt:

Sreve,do you know of any other quick xflow fiestas out there?bit of a bold statement but i rekon yours could be the fastest :ykt:
