Admin Mk2Jo Posted July 17, 2007 Admin Report Posted July 17, 2007 Do you think that we should keep to the standard colours on our Old Skool Ford's ? Well done to all those brave people who decide to make their cars just a little bit different ... especially with radical colour changes .... I wish I had the guts to do it ..... and I really like this:
H.P.E harry Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 I would have kept mine the original colour but it was just too dull for me. If your wondering it was oyster gold and now its a bright vista orange! One of the hardest decisions i made was which colour to have it.
Pye Man Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 The next escort I do im planning on changing the colours but keeping them Ford (well there maybe a certain german manufacturer colour in there) Guess its all down to taste. Plus colours arent forever they can be changed
martymk1 Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 kept mine bog standard, think it looks good in ermine white
noz aint cheating Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 Bright colours are the way to go i think, you cant beat a car thats had a recent spray job that jumps out and catches your eye. I once saw a bright pink fiesta though , thats taking it too far!
James HPE Motorsport Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 Mine is the original colour but if I was to build another one I would probably change it and even go for something non-ford! There are better colours out there
Smudger105e Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 Keeping on of our standard colours, the Estate is probably going from Lagoon Blue to Monaco red and white, and the Super I fancy in Dark Green (Goodwood Green or similar) with a gold roof, gold strip and gold minilites, what d'ya reckon?
Pye Man Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 Keeping on of our standard colours, the Eastse is probably going from Lagoon Blue to Monaco red and white, and the Super I fancy in Dark Green (Goodwood Green or similar) with a gold roof, gold strip and gold minilites, what d'ya reckon? Sounds good to me
antz Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 terracotta its original and stands out. best of both worlds
negri Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 really depends on the car and what its going to be used for . i would change the colour of mine all the time if it wasnt so expensive to do . but if you have an unmolested low mileager then i would keep it original
FlashCadillac Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 be a bit different... do what you want to it!!! whats the point if everyones car is the same
surfingturnip Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 it's your car, so paint it to reflect yourself is what I say.......be it bold screaming 'here I am' or traditional and low key
RETRO_AL Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 paint them as they should be from the factory NAH DONT BOTHER ITS BORING
MightySprocket Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 im going for a modern twist on an old design, using new colours to re-create what ford did... you'll have top wait and see what it is
V8ian Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 I much prefer stock colours, BUT saying that there are some modern colours that have worked well, the obvious one that come to mind is Stetcops Mk1 Cortina in Moonstone, I had been told what colour it was before I saw it and thought that will never work, but all credit to him, it looks the nuts, Factory race colours can also work well, but, and its a big BUT, The colour has to suit a car, it can so easily make or break a Good car to a "What the fook is that" At the end of the day its down to the owner of the car, After all its their pride and joy
LUKE261 Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 i like any colour really stock or different, i chose 2 paint my anglia with a modern colour that was my choice sometimes i wish id gone for a stock ford colour of the era and sometimes im glad i painted new shape vauxhall tigra convertible blue. origionally i wanted it st orange but it was a 3 stage pearl n would cost a fooking fair wack.
